Public bug reported: I use the bash in a gnome-terminal window with several open tabs. It happens frequently (once in a work day) that a bash tab simply stops to respond, i.e., it takes no key-strokes anymore. As other tabs continue to work I guess its not the fault of gnome-terminal but the bash hangs. I can observe this behavior on two PCs. You have two formular in this pdf document, if you fill out the first formular with Adobe Reader 11, can you see in the second formular that the Textfelds are automatically filled out. Public bug reported: Hello, I use Kubuntu 12.04.x with lightdm as login-manager to KDE and the nvidia binary driver with 2 monitors (DVI, TwinView). My Multi-Monitor config: right monitor: MAIN monitor left monitor: second monitor as extension: with mode left of Main Monitor This config is setup with nvidia-settings, which stores in xorg.conf and in .nvidia-settings in home-dir. In KDE the config is also stored with krandr as default config. After upgrading from package gnome-settings-daemon (3.4.2-0ubuntu0.6.2) to gnome-settings-daemon (3.4.2-0ubuntu0.6.3), the xorg.conf settings are ignored/misinterpreted as well as the KDE krandr settings. When lightdm is started, the second monitor is on the right side, and when logging-in to KDE either clone mode on both monitors is started or the second monitor is on the right side (mirrored). => I have to set my desired settings manually again and at the next reboot the problem persists. I have downgraded to gnome-settings-daemon-3.4.1-0ubuntu1, and the problem is gone. All fine again. I didn't find the previous version 3.4.2-0ubuntu0.6.2. How can I get this package version? Same problem here. I did a fresh install of Ubuntu 13.04 AMD64 and used my old Ubuntu 12.10 AMD64 home partition (located on another HDD). The problem occurs when attempting to create an AIM, ICQ or Yahoo! account. I've already tried to remove the .mission-control .config/signond .config/libaccounts-glib directories with no effect. I think the bottom line is really that for me, topics are only displayed for channels I'm autoconnected to. I added #scribus to that list yesterday (so it now consists of that plus #debian-games and #ubuntu- motu). After empathy started up today (automatically right after login), I got auto-connected to those three channels, and they all had their subjects displayed. For me, it is reproducible. 1. My IRC channel favorites list consists of only #debian-games (OTFC) and #ubuntu-motu (freenode) and they're set both to auto-connect at startup. For both channels, topics are shown from startup on. 2. I then log into #libreoffice-dev -- no topic shown. Same goes for #scribus (freenode), #pygtk (GimpNet). I'm starting to think that no channel that's not auto-connected at startup has its topic displayed... 3. Additionally, if I close the chat window and then have empathy "enter favorites" manually, *only* #debian-games has its topic shown (#ubuntu-motu doesn't). 4. Adding #libreoffice-dev (freenode, same as #ubuntu-motu) to auto-connected favorites, shutting down empathy, and restarting it: only #debian-games has its topic displayed; #ubuntu-motu doesn't any longer. Same if I add #pygtk (which is on GimpNet, ie a different network than #ubuntu-motu) instead of #libreoffice-dev. I've created a PPA with a fixed package (all four patches applied), it fixes the gnome-shell issue for me. https://launchpad.net/~berni/+archive/ppa Use at your own risk, there is at least one other package for oneiric in there (multi-arch libxp). Download the packages manually and/or remove the repository after you have upgraded. Ah, well in that way it was fixed for me as well. But not in this way you mentioned yourself in the bug description: "There can be no assumption that the 20 or so default enabled startup apps are suitable or useful for all so the means to adjust should be visible" I agree with post #5 and would appreciate if those apps were optional at startup (with this menu item and without digging into the .conf files). It should be added that this bug was not fixed but rather the opposite bug 803917 was fixed. Public bug reported: It happened to me more than once now that the icon set and the panel suddenly changes shortly after startup. The theme then looks like an ambiance but the dialog boxes and buttons look like the theme of the sudo user. I cannot switch back to ambiance by using the appearance properties but I have to log out and log in to fix the problem. I am attaching my .xsession-errors and a screenshot.
