[Bug 251934] Re: right clicking selected calendar event acts like clicking on open space

2008-07-26 Thread Bill Gjestvang
Not specific to exchange. Looks like you have to click on the text of
the appt. title, and then right-click that same text. Then it gives the
background menu.

If you either click on the left end (the time), or right click there, or
both, you get the correct menu.

[Bug 251930] [NEW] right clicking calendar event partially uses other event

2008-07-25 Thread Bill Gjestvang
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

This only happens in Day and Work Week view. It is reproducible.

If you have selected a calendar event, then right click a different one,
it gives you the context menu of the selected item, not the one you
right clicked. You can tell because the menus for recurring meetings
are different than those for single-instance meetings.

So, if you select a recurring meeting, and right click a single-instance
meeting, you see Delete this Occurrence and Delete All Occurrences
in the menu, when you should see only Delete. The reverse is also
true.

If you then select Delete this Occurence for a single-instance
meeting, it fails with the error The event could not be deleted due to
an error. If you select Delete All Occurrences on a single-instance
meeting, it deletes fine.

If you select Delete on a recurring meeting, it deletes all
occurrences.

I'm using an exchange calendar to test this. I'm running the latest hardy
packages:
evolution 2.22.3.1-0ubuntu1
evolution-common 2.22.3.1-0ubuntu1
evolution-data-server 2.22.3-0ubuntu1

[Bug 251934] [NEW] right clicking selected calendar event acts like clicking on open space

2008-07-25 Thread Bill Gjestvang
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

This only happens in Week and Month view. It is reproducible.
Possibly related to bug 251930.

If you have selected a calendar event, then right click it, you get a
context menu that looks like you clicked in an open area of the
calendar. There are no options for open, move, delete, etc. Only new
this, new that, etc.

If you have nothing selected, or some other appointment selected, before
right-clicking, you get the correct menu. If you have something else
selected, right-click, and delete, it deletes the correct item (the one
you right clicked). So it's only a problem when you right click what's
already selected.

I'm using an exchange calendar to test this. I'm running the latest hardy
packages:

[Bug 251995] [NEW] Editing reccurrence for This Instance Only locks out recurrence editing

2008-07-25 Thread Bill Gjestvang
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

Create a new Friday appointment that recurs weekly, forever. Go back in
and change the recurrence from Friday to Saturday. Click Save on the
appointment, and it'll ask if you want to save it for This Instance
Only or All Instances.

Alright, this is the first problem. It makes no sense to edit the
occurrence for a single instance.

Select This Instance Only, and save it. Now, when you go back in, the
recurrence information is grayed out, and you can't change it. This is
true of both the instance you changed or any other instance. You can
see that the instance you changed has no recurrence info, but all others
have the original recurrence info. But you can't change any of them.

Also, nothing actually changes day. Not even the one you told to.

You can regain access to the recurrence settings by changing the time
for all appointments. But the state of the series never seems quite
right again, and it seems to lead to cascading badness, possibly
including crashes.

This was produced using a local calendar.

Running the current Hardy code:
evolution 2.22.3.1-0ubuntu1

Another observation here, indicating that things are messed up, is after
you've played with this for a bit, you can stop and restart evolution,
and sometimes the calendar looks much different. So what gets saved
isn't the same as what it thinks it's saving.

[Bug 252003] [NEW] Changing date of recurring appt/mtg gets double mtgs, removes earlier

2008-07-25 Thread Bill Gjestvang
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

If you change the date of a recurring appointment or meeting, you get
appointments/meetings on both days, plus you delete all earlier
instances of the appt/mtg.

To reproduce:
(1) Create a new weekly appointment.
(2) Open the 3rd instance of the appointment.
(3) Change the date to the previous day.
(4) Click Save
(5) When prompted, click All Instances, then OK

Results:
(1) The mtgs/appts from the first 2 weeks are completely gone.
(2) From the 3rd week forward, there are now mtgs/appts on both days.

Expected behavior:
(1) Earlier meetings should not be deleted. They should either remain where
they were, or move by the same amount as the later appointments.
(2) Each week should have only one meeting, on the new day.

I'm running the latest Hardy packages:

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

1. Start with an gnome desktop that doesn't have visual effects, using more
than 2 workspaces (I had 4 and 8)
2. Enable visual effects (right click the desktop, change desktop background,
visual effects tab, check one of the radio buttons to enable visual effects)
3. Click cancel when asked if you want to keep the changes.

Result: Your previous settings will be restored, except that you will

[Bug 135471] Re: Addressbook crash when searching contacts by any field contains

2007-10-03 Thread Bill Gjestvang
OK, I'm seeing it again, in the same versions as Waldorf. The latest
gutsy-devel. Reopening.

Nothing shows up in /var/crash, and apport doesn't run. I can't find a
particular process that this seems to belong to.

It looks like I may have been wrong when I said that it didn't matter
which addressbook you used, and that it was 100% repeatable. Right now,
I can repeat it 100% of the time using one particular local address book
(lots of entries), running Gutsy-devel. Perhaps there's some field that
it's tripping over, which I've now deleted from most of my address
books.

How can I get more info about what's going on? Which process is it?
Would a stack trace do any good if no process hangs or ends?

[Bug 138262] focus stays on format drop-down menu

2007-09-08 Thread Bill Gjestvang
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

When you click on the formatting dropdown menu (Normal, Preformat,
Bulleted List, etc.), and select an item, the focus remains on the
dropdown. So, if you start a bulleted list, you have to click back into
the message field to be able to type again.

Expected behavior is that the focus should return to the message field,
where the cursor was before selecting the dropdown.

[Bug 125311] Re: evolution-exchange-storage crashed with SIGSEGV in soup_connection_disconnect()

2007-08-30 Thread Bill Gjestvang
I think this is gone in the latest gutsy code, evolution and evolution-
exchange 2.11.91-0ubuntu1. Is anyone still seeing this in that version
or newer?

[Bug 135471] Addressbook crash when searching contacts by any field contains

2007-08-29 Thread Bill Gjestvang
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

The evolution addressbook crashes whenever I search my contacts list by
any field contains, unless all contacts match the search. So if any
one contact doesn't match the search, the addressbook crashes.

The popup message I get:
Evolution Error
The Evolution addressbook has quit unexpectedly.
Your contacts for file:///home/bill/.evolution/addressbook/local/system will
not be available until Evolution is restarted.

100% repeatable.

To repeat:
(1) Go into your contacts list (any addressbook)
(2) Change the search to Any field contains
(3) Enter some text that shouldn't match any contacts
(4) Press enter
And it should pop up a dialog with the above error.

No crash files are created in /var/crash.

[Bug 120611] Re: in evolution cannot move recursive events

2007-08-29 Thread Bill Gjestvang
I've recreated something similar under gutsy. Here's what I did:
(1) create an event that recurs weekly forever
(2) move the 2nd instance to a different day, different time, and different
length of time
(3) change all instances (selecting one from the normal time) to be a different
time and length of time

Then you'll see that the special instance from #2 has a second copy back
on the original day, but at the time and length of time from #2.

[Bug 35916] Re: Changing Event with Attachment after Cut and Paste Crashes Evo

2007-08-29 Thread Bill Gjestvang
This cut-paste-save bug is still present on the latest gutsy-devel,
evolution 2.11.91-0ubuntu1. I'll attach a backtrace.

(The meeting invitation thing I mentioned, which Sebastian said was a
separate bug, is no longer happening.)

[Bug 35916] Re: Changing Event with Attachment after Cut and Paste Crashes Evo

2007-01-03 Thread Bill Gjestvang
Evolution hangs up every time I try to accept a meeting invitation with
attachments. Seems to me that it used to actually crash when doing
that. I'm currently running edgy (evolution 2.8.1-0ubuntu4, evolution-
exchange 2.8.1-0ubuntu1), but I had the crash on dapper as well.

What info would be helpful?
