[Bug 771896] Re: No way to save current session

2014-10-13 Thread Cedric Bhihe
Does this fix or another one (unknown to me) works for Trusty (14.04) Desktop ?
I am dying to see this implemented for all my desktop's windows.

Just imagine if you left work in the evening with your (real desktop) set for
the next day and on the morning of the day after, you find that everything as
been neatly stacked by the hosuekeeping staff. Horror. This is what happens
everyday with Ubuntu 14.04's Unity.

[Bug 1004515] Re: segfault in accounts-daemon when logging in

2013-02-15 Thread chambault cedric
Well got a news to help noobs like me !

I just installed these 2 packages from Debian Sid (unstable) in this
order :

dpkg -i libaccountsservice0_0.6.21-8_i386.deb
dpkg -i accountsservice_0.6.21-8_i386.deb

The 2 packages easily replace the packages from ubuntu, and so far there
is no side effect and the best :

No more Segfault violation.

I still keep any other packages (pam, gdm, etc ...) from the ubuntu
12.04.

Hope it helps.

[Bug 437378] Re: Some flashes appears when a window is resized

2011-01-05 Thread Bellegarde Cedric
bugs appear with every window manager i test:
- metacity
- openbox
- kwin
- blackbox
- ...

Only working window manager is compiz so i guess bug is in cairo dock
and not in window managers...

Here what kwin devs think about it:

The claimed assumption that kwin would set size and position independently if
there's a combined configure request is (afaics) wrong, the geometry update is
blocked in the configure request until everything's done
(position/size/contrainment)

And it works with compiz because compiz set size and position
independently due to it plugin architecture...

[Bug 437378] Re: Some flashes appears when a window is resized

2011-01-05 Thread Bellegarde Cedric
I'm now quite sure that this bug is in cairo-dock...

If i replace gdk_window_move_resize() with just gdk_window_resize() (so,
like this, dock don't move)

Here what happen then when an icon is closed:
- Dock resize itself
- Icon is remove
- Dock move to it original position !

So, this is the last move that do flickering...

With gtk_window_move_resize(), dock move at an invalid position and then
go back to good position.

[Bug 294796] [NEW] Evolution migration fails to migrate POP message downloaded status

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

When doing the Ubuntu 8.10 upgrade to evolution 2.24.1-0ubuntu2 the list
of already downloaded POP messages fails to be migrated/checked

2007-06-07 Thread Cedric Schieli
Same problem here (plus drivemount applet do not appear when
notifications are not working).

Between logins, if I switch to VT and log with my user, I can see 2 processes
remaining from my last gdm session :
bonobo-activation-server and evolution-data-server
If I kill evolution-data-server, then bonobo-activation-server stops and
notifications work again in next gdm login.
If I do not kill those processes, notifications do not work in next gdm login.

[Bug 110933] Socket credentials not supported on this OS when trying to connect to gnome-keyring-daemon

2007-04-29 Thread Cedric Schieli
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-keyring

When tying to connect to gutsy's gnome-keyring-daemon (0.8.1-2), either
from gnome-keyring-manager or from nm-applet, I get a Socket
credentials not supported on this OS error.

I've tracked it down to a miscompiling caused by the current buggy
linux-libc-dev (2.6.22-1.3) :
the file /usr/include/asm-i386/socket.h is not included from
/usr/include/asm/socket.h, so the SO_PEERCRED constant is not defined.

The fix should be a rebuild when a fixed linux-libc-dev will be
available.

Yes, this is still a problem. I'm using whatever version it is you're
calling LTS.

No, this is not a duplicate of bug #9252. In 9252 the remote owner
(root) is listed as the local user (mary). In this the remote owner is
shown as 695 (the correct uid of the logged-in user on the server). My
user id locally is 1000. The You are not the owner... message is

[Bug 48382] nautilus can not change permissions in ssh session

2006-12-12 Thread Cedric Shock
Public bug reported:

When I attempt to change properties on a file I copied to my server with
ssh in nautilus all the controls are greyed out and the message:

You are not the owner, so you can not change these permissions.

Is displayed. The user used to log into ssh is indeed the owner of the
file.

Perhaps it is comparing the user id to the user id of the local user,
not the one it used to log into the server as.

This worked correctly in 5.10. I just switched to Flight X (whatever was
May 31st).

Also if I log into a terminal and change the permissions, and then copy
the file again and overwrite the permissions are reset. This might be
related (deletes, writes, believes it can't set permissions?).

This bug isn't a local security issue, but it is certainly a real
security issue.
