[Bug 389263] Re: libgtk-x11-2.0.so seg fault

2009-06-19 Thread charles
Duplicate ticket https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/389265 contains a
better crash report of the Transmission version of this crash.

It's probable that this is either a configuration error or a GTK+ error.
I've confirmed that both Transmission 1.71 and Deluge 1.1.8 operate
correctly on my system using gtk+ 2.16.2, and billybigrigger is using
gtk+ 2.17.2.

In the Transmission crash report, it looks like the error is happening
inside of gtk+ 2.17.2 when the GtkFileChooserButton is clicked.

Adding GTK+ to this ticket so that they can weigh in.

[Bug 280625] Re: Applications use the PC speaker beep for alerts altough a sound file is set up in sound settings

2009-01-22 Thread charles
This ticket needs to be moved or refiled to the gtk+ component. It is
not a Transmission bug per se, and I suspect not a Pidgin or Firefox bug
either. See comment number nine -- this behavior can be reproduced in

[Bug 193617] Re: Hardy rhythmbox stops screen from blanking on laptop lid close

2008-03-22 Thread Charles
This same issue prevents shutting down the computer when Rhythmbox is
playing in an up-to-date Hardy Beta install. Is this actually gnome-
power-manager or rhythmbox? Either way, pretty serious. This seems like
a showstopper bug to me. People are going to want to shut
down/restart/suspect/etc their computers without manually stopping their
music.

[Bug 193617] Re: Hardy rhythmbox stops screen from blanking on laptop lid close

2008-03-23 Thread Charles
In related (if not duplicate) bug #78038, Sebastian offers the solution:
"That is a new plugin, it should probably be listed by the interface
though, you can stop it by changing the /apps/rhythmbox/plugins/power-
manager/active gconf key to false."

This solution fixes the issue for me.

I found other mentions here (http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail
/pkg-gnome-maintainers/2007-April/033797.html) with the suggestion by
Julien "I guess the correct behaviour of this plugin is to prevent the
screensaver from starting (though I don't understand why this would be
necessary with an audio player). I would thus recommand this plugin to
be disabled by default, or at least not hidden."

Unless this plugin serves some useful purpose I am not aware of, I would
agree strongly with the recommendation to disable it by default, and
certainly at least not hide it! (/apps/rhythmbox/plugins/power-
manager/hidden)

Can confirmers of the non-blanking screen issue change the key as per
Sebastians solution and see if this fixes the issue? If someone could do
it I would greatly appreciate it; then I can mark this as a duplicate of
the other bug and merge the progress. Thanks!

[Bug 78038] Re: rhythmbox interferes with suspend

2008-03-23 Thread Charles
This still occurs in an up-to-date (rhythmbox 0.11.5) Hardy Beta.
Pressing the power button just causes g-p-m to display the message
"Music Player has stopped the policy action from taking place: Playing."
I would argue that the importance is significantly more than "Low", due
to the inability to shutdown/restart/suspend/hibernate while listening
to music. Personally I find this to be a great annoyance which didn't
exist in Gutsy, that will affect all users of rhythmbox who make changes
to the power state of their computer (estimated to be large).

I will be glad to hear your results in the next Hardy Alpha release. Is
there anything you can find in common with the subs that work or the
ones that don't? Language, type of sub file, length of movie, codec
(audio or video), etc? Maybe there is a way to narrow it down more which
could help, if it seems fixed most of the time, such as it just has
problems with a specific video codec or something.

Confirmed in Transmission, but it's a GTK+ issue, not a Transmission

[Bug 122602] Re: Duplicated entries in Places Menu

2007-09-27 Thread Charles
Should this still be happening in the Gutsy Beta released today? I did a
fresh install (over top of another Ubuntu install which also exhibited
the bug, not sure if it somehow picked it up from there?).

[Bug 78848] LUKS removable volume not mounted automatically

2007-01-11 Thread Charles
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: hal

Since upgrade from Edgy to Feisty, my LUKS-encrypted removable disk does not
mount anymore automatically.
HAL is correctly detecting the LUKS-volume and I'm asked for the passphrase.
After entering the passphrase, a pseudo device is created in /dev/mapper but
that device is not mounted.

I'm not really sure whether this is a HAL or gnome-volume-manager bug.

The device consists of a 4 partitions: NTFS, 2 x ReiserFS and 1 x LUKS
(VFAT)

Here is part of the HAL log (dashed are inserted at the moment I entered
the passphrase):

[Bug 78848] Re: LUKS removable volume not mounted automatically

2007-01-11 Thread Charles
In the latest HAL for Feisty, the following is written in the Changelog:

Add back debian/patches/00upstream-06-stat-dev-not-mountpoint.patch and
port it to 0.5.8.1. This fixes handling of NTFS-FUSE mounts again in
Feisty. Closes: LP#35354

Are some more patches missed?

[Bug 136608] Re: [gusty Tribe5]Totem wrong subtitles synchronization

2008-02-22 Thread Charles
Hello ubuntu4fun. Have any of these issues been addressed since the
final release of Gutsy as opposed to Tribe 5? If not let's try to get
some instructions and (legal and free) files to easily duplicate the
bugs, and send them upstream.

[Bug 136608] Re: [gusty Tribe5]Totem wrong subtitles synchronization

2008-02-24 Thread Charles
I will be glad to hear your results in the next Hardy Alpha release. Is
there anything you can find in common with the subs that work or the
ones that don't? Language, type of sub file, length of movie, codec
(audio or video), etc? Maybe there is a way to narrow it down more which
could help, if it seems fixed most of the time, such as it just has
problems with a specific video codec or something.

[Bug 76449] Re: Cannot sort static playlists

2008-02-24 Thread Charles
I can confirm this still exists in Hardy Alpha 5, with Rhythmbox 0.11.4,
which I assume will be the final version in Hardy. The bugzilla bug
seems active and there have been a recent patch or two proposed so that
is promising at least. I will try to work with them to see what can come
of it, and push to get this resolved for Hardy+1.

[Bug 78848] Re: LUKS removable volume not mounted automatically

2007-01-11 Thread Charles
In the latest HAL for Feisty, the following is written in the Changelog:

Add back debian/patches/00upstream-06-stat-dev-not-mountpoint.patch and
port it to 0.5.8.1. This fixes handling of NTFS-FUSE mounts again in
Feisty. Closes: LP#35354

Are some more patches missed?

[Bug 128052] Re: notification daemon seg faults

2007-07-26 Thread Charles
Hi,

After changing the theme using gconf-editor (/apps/notification-daemon/theme)
from "ubuntu" to "Ubuntu", everything works again.
Can someone check this behavior?

Regards, Charles
