[Bug 160311] Re: Resizing windows by grabbing window borders is difficult
Can someone update the summary of this bug - there is alot of valuable information in the comments that is not reflected in the summary - The issue has been an issue for users (especially of large) screens for several releases - Trackpad users seem to be particularly impacted by this - The issue appears to have been significantly aggravated in Lucid by changing the border width from 3 pixels to 1 pixel -- Resizing windows by grabbing window borders is difficult https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/160311 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to metacity in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 438004] [NEW] Cursor orientation and positioning on a rotated second screen
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-control-center I have a second screen - Samsung Syncmaster 740T attached to a X61 Thinkpad Lenovo. I use the Samsung as my second screen and rotate it to the left. Karmic Alpha 6 (with updates to Sunday 27th September) rotates the screen correctly BUT the cursor is orientated the wrong way round AND the position of the cursor is incorrect (i.e. the cursor is appearing about 1 cm to the right of when it is actually pointing on the screen). I attach a screen shot. [Bug 353252] [NEW] Notification framework wizard fails and is uncancellable when the panel has been re-organised.
Public bug reported: The new status menu prompts me to update when I log in it but then fails. Everytime I log in I get hit by the same notification and have no way of cancelling it or making it work. * Background I have upgraded since 6.06 and am presently using the 9.04 beta. I have altered the order of icons and panels at the top of my screen. I appear to have lost my notification panel (the one that tells me about updates). This may have happened prior to my upgrade or during my first boot of the beta. * Attachments: A picture of the wizard A picture of the subsequent error A picture of my notifications panel as it presently stands ** Affects: notification-daemon (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Notification framework wizard fails and is uncancellable when the panel has been re-organised. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/353252 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to notification-daemon in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 351491] [NEW] Display preferences should be discoverable via the "Change desktop background" window
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-control-center USE CASE User boots with a monitor attached and Ubuntu decides that the external monitor is the Primary monitor. Gnome panels attach themselves to the external screen. User disconnects from external screen (which I do at least 5 times a day) and discover that a) I cannot access the GNOME panels and worse ) I cannot access the "Display - Change screen resolution" applet either. There are clearly many ways of attacking this: - Can we make the Display Screen Resolution applet functionality (where you can manipulate where the screens are) visible via the "Change Desktop Background" window. At least when a user cannot see the standard GNOME panels - they can still unattach the additional monitor. - Can we introduce the concept of primary and secondary monitors and allow a user to state which one is which. (Auto detection of the most commonly used one would be great too) - Should the right click on the desktop really be named - CHANGE DESKTOP BACKGROUND - can we use something more generic? - ** Affects: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Display preferences should be discoverable via the "Change desktop background" window https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/351491 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
