[Bug 120652] External disk drives with the same vendor name conflict with gnome-volume-manager
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-volume-manager I think this problem lies in gnome-volume-manager, but it may well lie in gnome-mount or hal, I don't know. If two external disk drives have the same vendor name, only one of them will mount. This seems to be due to conflicting mount points (e.g. in my case, I have two drives that want to be mounted at /media/WDC USB2). The other drive is perfectly mountable using pmount or pmount-hal, but will receive a generic mount point (e.g. 'usbdisk' or 'sd??'). It'd be good if these cases could be detected and handled nicely, such as having /media/WDC USB2 and /media/WDC USB2 (2), or by returning a non-cryptic error message and some instructions on a possible remedy. Even better would be to use the FAT drive label when it exists, but this problem could still occur of course. ** Affects: gnome-volume-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- External disk drives with the same vendor name conflict with gnome-volume-manager https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/120652 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for gnome-volume-manager in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

I haven't changed my Epiphany package in a while (I need to recompile on amd64 each time), so I'm guessing this may actually be a nautilus bug. -- Dragging page icon to desktop no longer makes a shortcut https://launchpad.net/bugs/42923 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 42923] Re: Dragging page icon to desktop no longer makes a shortcut
This did used to work not so long ago (like a few weeks ago) and I haven't updated my epiphany-browser package since then. It may be epiphany related, but it seems to have been triggered by a change in another package (perhaps nautilus or shared-mime-info, or something like that?) -- Dragging page icon to desktop no longer makes a shortcut https://launchpad.net/bugs/42923 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 38594] Re: Opening totem disables the mouse
ok, the problem is back again and I've no idea what's triggered it. I tried replacing totem-gstreamer with totem-xine and the problem still exists... There's no problem with the mozilla plugin or other media players (gxine, wxvlc, mplayer), so I'm guessing the problem lies somewhere in Totem? Does anyone have any idea how to debug something like this? -- Opening totem disables the mouse https://launchpad.net/bugs/38594 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 36538] Re: Epiphany Python extension functions are broken on amd64
Seems you guys have this, but just a note to Daniel, setting noopt in DEB_OPTS (or whatever the variable is supposed to be) doesn't work for this package (the variable seems to be ignored) - I had to set CFLAGS manually. -- Epiphany Python extension functions are broken on amd64 https://launchpad.net/bugs/36538 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 38594] Re: Opening totem disables the mouse
I'm afraid, as mysteriously as it started, it also seems to have stopped... Sorry to have wasted time. If it reoccurs (it was happening yesterday, but is fine today), I'll see if I can narrow it down some more. -- Opening totem disables the mouse https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/38594 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 38594] Re: Opening totem disables the mouse
In addition, mouse keys still work, it just seems to be the mouse device that's disabled - This is a standard ps/2 mouse - in xorg.conf, the device node is set as /dev/input/mice. If I cat the device, totem actually seems to stop the device working completely - It stops receiving input as soon as totem loads (and resumes as soon as totem quits). Other video playing apps seem to work fine, such as wxvlc and gxine. -- Opening totem disables the mouse https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/38594 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 36538] Epiphany Python extension functions are broken on amd64
Public bug reported: https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/36538 Affects: epiphany-browser (Ubuntu) Severity: Normal Priority: (none set) Status: Unconfirmed Description: Epiphany immediately segfaults on amd64 when a python extension calls epiphany.ephy_shell_get_default().get_bookmarks().get_keywords().get_children() I have filed this up-stream (Gnome bug #325930), however the fault is not present when compiling without optimisations. The Epiphany del.icio.us bookmarks syncing extension 'epilicious' is affected - An intermediary solution (until gcc stops generating broken code) would be to disable optimisations (CFLAGS=-O0) when compiling for amd64. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
