Nautilus (List View 50%) takes 35 seconds to open /usr/lib, from there 17 seconds to open vmware, and from there 50 seconds to go up to /usr/lib again. This is reproducible on an nvidia as well as on an ICH9 based system. -- with ubuntu8.10 the filebrowser Nautilus 2.24.1 is awfully slow. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/294555 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 299454] [NEW] Itrepid Ibex: Nautilus list mode quick search inconsistency.
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus Intrepid: In Nautilus list mode navigate to e.g. /etc and in the right (list) pane type the letter "s". In the LRH corner a text entry box pops up and the "samba" directory is highlighted in the middle of the list pane. Now double click on the "samba" directory name to open that directory. Instead the topmost directory on list pane ("proftpd" in my case) is opened ... Sometimes first doing a single click helps, but often this single click already opens the topmost directory. The workaround is to hit to close the text popup (or wait for it to close by itself) before doing the double click. In Hardy the single or double click closed the text popup and a next double click was required to open the directory. ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Itrepid Ibex: Nautilus list mode quick search inconsistency. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/299454 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 106350] Re: Metacity crash corrupts future Gnome sessions
My "administrative" user experienced the same symptoms after upgrading the 80 packages that were updated since Apr 11. Invoking the "Windows" Preferences gave a popup "Cannot start the preferences application for your window manager", "Window manager "unknown" has not registered a configuration tool. Removing the ~/.gnome2 directory made the symptoms disappear. Root did not experience the problem. -- Metacity crash corrupts future Gnome sessions https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/106350 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
