[Bug 952612] [NEW] Package @GCONFPKGS@ was not found in the pkg-config search path.

2012-03-11 Thread Daniel Leidert
Public bug reported:

There is a serious issue in the libgucharmap-2-90-dev package in the .pc
file. The field Requires.private says:

Requires.private: @GCONFPKGS@

which leads to this error trying to get the CFLAGS:

pkg-config --cflags gucharmap-2.90
Package @GCONFPKGS@ was not found in the pkg-config search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing `@GCONFPKGS@.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
Package '@GCONFPKGS@', required by 'gucharmap', not found

and thus e.g. bluefish fails to build, because the necessary include
directive for gucharmap headers gets lost.

[Bug 771109] Re: gamgi version 0.15-3ubuntu2 failed to build on amd64 with GCC-4.6/oneiric

2011-04-27 Thread Daniel Leidert
The bug is caused by the wrong includes of glib2.0: The pkg-config file seems
to say: -I/usr/include/gtk-2.0 -I/usr/lib/gtk-2.0/include, whereas the
glibconfig.h file is in
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/glib-2.0/include/glibconfig.h. Reassigned to glib2.0.
.

** Package changed: gamgi (Ubuntu) => glib2.0 (Ubuntu)

Add --no-use-agent. That should so.

[Bug 436944] Re: libgucharmap-dev misses dependency on libgconf2-dev

2009-09-29 Thread Daniel Leidert
It is not easy to workaround, as it requires manual fixing of several
clean build environments like pbuilder chroots. It requires touching of
the Build-Depends line, which is also just stupid to handle buggy
package dependencies. To fix such an issue, nobody in the world will
agree to you to "fix" this in the Build-Depends field. Please show me
such an example. You fix issues in jaunty-updates, which are of much
less priority or severity of this bug. Your hint to "pressed CDs" and
"frozen archives" - shall I really comment these arguments?

About stability: We talk about a small library with exactly 4 or 5
rdepends, which can be easily tested (even by your own). I don't run any
Ubuntu workstation and I won't want to run one, so I'm not going to test
this myself.

And disagreeing with you is not a violation of any code of conduct.
Closing a report that is clearly about Jaunty with a hint to the
unreleased Karmis is stupid and/or insulting. You can decide for your
own, what you would think. Karmic is not (yet) relevant for *any*
production system. And for the software (bluefish 1.3), for which I
build packages for Ubuntu users, it won't even become this year, beacuse
I cannot expect every user to switch in a short time period after a new
release.

It hasn't been an issue for now? You need to "backport" a missing
package dependency? WTF? Are you kidding me?

2009-09-28 Thread Daniel Leidert
I need this fixed in the current release Jaunty, for which all external
packages are built. Karmic is not interesting for me.

[Bug 436944] [NEW] libgucharmap-dev misses dependency on libgconf2-dev

2009-09-25 Thread Daniel Leidert
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gucharmap

The libgucharmap-dev package in Jaunty misses a dependency on
libgconf2-dev because of the gucharmap-2.pc pkg-config file. Otherwise
the pkg-config tests fail with:

Package 'gconf-2.0', required by 'gucharmap', not found

Either fix the deps or the pkg-config file. Thanks.

[Bug 219833] Re: Error message during installation

This is not an expat bug. The error I see refers to a broken XML file,
that is not shipped with expat (but with gnome-games-data).
