[Bug 662641] [NEW] Nautilus does not give Show in Folder option to files after running a search

2010-10-18 Thread David Collins
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

-While use Nautilus, hit Ctrl+F and run a search for the item of your choice.
-Presuming your search returns results, right click on one of the files or
folders displayed and view the menu that pops up.

Expected:
- For one of the menu items to display Show in Folder. Clicking on this would
open up a new folder window showing the folder that the search item resides in.

In reality:
-There is no such menu item.

This bug is slightly aggravating in normal use. You may be searching for a
folder but may only remember the name of a file that is in it. Or there maybe
files that you want that are located close to the file you are searching for
(maybe searching for a config file and get the wrong file but for the right
application).

In those instances in order to do the above, you must right click on
item, click on Properties, resize the entire Properties window so that
the full file Location can be viewed (the window is usually small enough
to truncate the location), copy the location, go back to Nautilus, hit
Ctrl+L, enter in the location into the address bar, and hit enter.

As you can imagine, an option on the menu that would allow you to
directly go to the folder that the file is in would be so much more
convenient and user friendly.

[Bug 662643] [NEW] Changing the file view type on a Search Results window reruns the search

2010-10-18 Thread David Collins
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

Steps to Reproduce:
-Run a search on Nautilus. Ensure that it's a rather lengthy search.
-View the results.
-Go to the View menu and change the view type (between Icons, Compact and
List)

Expected:
-For Nautilus to immediately display the files in the new display type

In reality:
-Nautilus does change the display type... but it reruns the search in the
process. This means that if you've done a lengthy search, and you change (say)
from Icons to List (so as better to view file properties), you'll suddenly find
that the search results disappear. In order to see them again, you have to wait
while the search is run again from the beginning. When the search completes and
the files do display, they are displayed in the right view format though.

[Bug 38445] Re: AisleRiot appears to hang while switching to paris cards

2010-08-28 Thread David Collins
Using AisleRiot 2.30.0, I clicked on the View menu and found no option to
change the card theme. I check the other menus and no option appeared there
either.
This renders this bug unable to reproduce.
