[Bug 1563155] Re: No Application Data Found

2016-09-16 Thread David Oxland
I've been watching the "Ubuntu-Software" since I fresh installed 16.04 on
another machine.
My complaint was the same; offerings meager.
Now after an upgrade on machine #2 the same software tool appeared.

 Then I tried "Ubuntu Software Center 15.12" and it is the full meal deal. All
that I expected albeit in a different GUI form from the 14.04 that I was used
to.
select " ubuntu Software Center" from Unity search your computer button and I
locked it to the unity launcher. It was there with a different name all ready
to go
Works for me.

I have a problem with convert to read.
 As soon as I click to highlight a mail piece it changes to read Past tense
I've not been able to find a setting to change this
 I recall there used to be a setting set to read after seconds
There seems to be no mention of this in Help.

[Bug 948489] [NEW] Evolution filter errors

2012-03-06 Thread David Oxland
Public bug reported:

Recently after having used Evolution for years it has started filtering in
error.
Almost all of my incoming mail is filtered of to Inbox/Bills Mesa.
 Don't know how to fix this
Have been having trouble with Emptying trash error and was advised to:
This could be due to a corrupted index file. To fix this we need to delete them
and let Evolution rebuild them. The following instructions are just a
workaround, I can't promise that it will solve your issue.
Open the Terminal and do the following:

1) Force shutdown Evolution:
evolution --force-shutdown

2) Backup evolution files:
$ cp -rv ~/.evolution ~/.evolution.bkp
$ cp -rv ~/.local/share/evolution/mail/local
~/.local/share/evolution/mail/local.bkp

3) Delete the index files:

find ~/.evolution/mail/local -name '*ibex.index*' -exec rm -f {} \;
find ~/.evolution/mail/local -name '*ev-summary*' -exec rm -f {} \;
find ~/.local/share/evolution/mail/local -name '*ibex.index*' -exec rm -f {} \;

;

4) Start Evolution. At this stage it will be slow to come up because it
recreates the indexes.
Perhaps this has caused part of the new problem.
 Incidentally the Trash empty problem has reoccured several times and the above
steps have corrected it for a short time.
Thanks.
Solution came from Landscape help.

[Bug 831625] Re: Evolution; autocomplete option not available

2011-08-22 Thread David Oxland
I've managed to get around this with experimentation.
 I had, in fact select all three available contact lists as autocomplete
candidates.
Reducing the choice to only one list has restored the auto-complete albeit to
only one list: I would have preferred to select multiple lists.
So fussy aren't we?
 Hope this helps

[Bug 462434] [NEW] Evolution sent links not clickable

2009-10-28 Thread David Oxland
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

When I am sending a link in Evolution it is not clickable unless I do something
immediately after the link; add a space or enter.
People receiving these are complaining as they are not use to cut and pasting
the links into a browser

What I expect to happen : the links as soon as they appear, to be highlighted
or coloured and functionally clickable.
What happens: the links are in plain black text and are not clickable by the
sender or receiver.

[Bug 405515] [NEW] evolution send link not highlighted

2009-07-27 Thread David Oxland
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

I've got a problem with Evolution,.
I've been getting comments from people to whom I send links that the links are
not clickable (highlighted recently.)
If I'm at a website if Firefox and go File/Send Link Evolution mail opens
with mail to window as it should
In the body section is pasted the link,but recently, not highlighted as a
clickable link.
RemarkablyPutting a space infront of the link makes it clickable.
Checking Evolution, Preferences, Composer preferences, Forward style setting is
at inline and changing does not help

[Bug 323716] Re: A text/html decoder plugin is required

2009-02-01 Thread David Oxland
Andreas
You are right it does link to a standalone player and I didn't realize that
Rhythmbox wasn't meant to do this.
I have been very pleased, all in all, using Rhythmbox especially once I figured
out how to pick up and load podcast addresses.
Thanks for the help and sorry for the trouble

I do have one more question if you have a moment
The link below also will not play as podcast or as radio and I wondered if
there is a way of recognizing this or better still manipulating the link so
that it will play or download as a podast.

Re: [Bug 305596] Re: totem movie player hangs on play

2008-12-05 Thread David Oxland
Hello Pedro

It seems that this problem was tied to pulseaudio. Searching in the
forums gave killall pulseaudio which caused it to restart and player
works properly now as well as Pidgin hangs have been corrected
Thanks
David
If you still want the back trace I can try to do it for you
