Try to do this: 1. Turn off your internet connection — you have to deny internet access only, but leave connection to the LAN. You may not use gnome-network-preferences. I use my internet provider's control panel... 2. Move your ~/.gnome2/rhytmbox -> ~/.gnome2/rhytmbox.BAK 3. Start rhytmbox and turn on only one plugin — «Cover art» 4. Restart rhytmbox and wait while it adds some music (your profile is clear now) 5. Start playback of any song with length >= 4min. 6. Listen... And if you do first step right, you must to see loading animation in place where cover art must be (i will try to upload screenshot here). 7. At moment 3 min 9 sec (magic moment) it crushes (in my computer). I cant listen 'internet radio' when i disconnect from the internet =) It was a local music. When i have connection to the internet i have no problem. But when i missed payment for the internet, my provider disconnected me from internet but despite all this, I had access to the LAN. Try to do this: 1. Turn off your internet connection — you have to deny internet access only, but leave connection to the LAN. You may not use gnome-network-preferences. I use my internet provider's control panel... 2. Move your ~/.gnome2/rhytmbox -> ~/.gnome2/rhytmbox.BAK 3. Start rhytmbox and turn on only one plugin — «Cover art» 4. Restart rhytmbox and wait while it adds some music (your profile is clear now) 5. Start playback of any song with length >= 4min. 6. Listen... And if you do first step right, you must to see loading animation in place where cover art must be (i will try to upload screenshot here). 7. At moment 3 min 9 sec (magic moment) it crushes (in my computer). I cant listen 'internet radio' when i disconnect from the internet =) It was a local music. When i have connection to the internet i have no problem. But when i missed payment for the internet, my provider disconnected me from internet but despite all this, I had access to the LAN. Try to do this: 1. Turn off your internet connection — you have to deny internet access only, but leave connection to the LAN. You may not use gnome-network-preferences. I use my internet provider's control panel... 2. Move your ~/.gnome2/rhytmbox -> ~/.gnome2/rhytmbox.BAK 3. Start rhytmbox and turn on only one plugin — «Cover art» 4. Restart rhytmbox and wait while it adds some music (your profile is clear now) 5. Start playback of any song with length >= 4min. 6. Listen... And if you do first step right, you must to see loading animation in place where cover art must be (i will try to upload screenshot here). 7. At moment 3 min 9 sec (magic moment) it crushes (in my computer). The problem is in authorization info, ekiga uses. It takes auth info of first registered account (see Authorization header). [Bug 196570] [NEW] crashes randomly when shuffling through songs
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: rhythmbox Rythmbox will just randomly crash when a new song starts playing. When it crashes, any songs added to playlists in the current session are removed. I have shuffle turned on so I don't know which songs its crashing on and can't try to reproduce the crash. The songs are on a FAT32 drive and the drive is being shared. Sorry about not getting back to this bug report with the additional information but I just don't have time right now. Rhythmbox crashes on me pretty frequently and quite randomly. It is possible to put a "try catch" around each of the functions that crash Rhythmbox so it can handle those issues more gracefully? Also, I noticed that whenever Rhythmbox crashes it resets any changes I have made to playlists. I also have Tab Mix Plus. I am using the dev build of the extension. Somehow the settings got fumbled (posible during the upgrade) and the "middle click opens in the same tab" option got checked.
