I found a solution at http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1414858
It seems that Ubuntu lists both the configured keyboard, as well as the keyboard that was chosen in gdm. How to solve: Upon logon, in gdm (Login Screen), select the keyboard layout you wish to use and login. If you use autologon (you do not see the login screen), do "System -> Log Out username..."; then the login screen should appear. How to reproduce (untested): Select a different layout in the logon screen. That one then cannot be removed outside of gdm. -- USA keyboard layout installed after each reboot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/518950 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
