[Bug 1852183] Re: [X11] copy/paste (clipboard) is broken in Ubuntu 19.10
To add to my earlier comment, it also happens when copying between Ubuntu applications. In this case, a rather poor workaround is to copy twice or even three times which usually will eventually grab the text being copied. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to mutter in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1852183 Title: [X11] copy/paste (clipboard) is broken in Ubuntu 19.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/df-libreoffice/+bug/1852183/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1852183] Re: [X11] copy/paste (clipboard) is broken in Ubuntu 19.10
Often cannot copy and paste between Notepad++ and Firefox or even Terminal. [Bug 1774188] Re: Unlocking the screen takes 5 seconds in Xorg sessions (not so much in Wayland sessions)
I see this, too, on two different machines (one at home, one at work), both desktops with two monitors. Though for me the delay is usually longer then five seconds. The duration of the delay seems to increase with how long the machine's been up since its last reboot. Additional info re: my comment above. I have Ubuntu 16.04 running on two PCs, an Asus laptop and HP desktop. I expected the .pdf I wanted to print to be printed as it appears on the screen. 4) What happened instead Every odd sheet is printed as it should, even sheets contain horizontal lines as shown on the image file I attached. I use the words 'odd' and 'even' to refer to the sheets printed (as opposed to: page numbers). I opened the file using Foxit Reader in Windows XP Professional. Duplex printing works as it should. [Bug 818227] [NEW] keyboard login problem
Public bug reported: A fairly new pc running 11.04 with latest updates and BIOS. During login, each key must be depressed for about one second until a dot appears. I reloaded 11.04 in June and it fixed this problem but weeks later, after updates, it came back. All this occurred w/orig BIOS. I updated BIOS (AFTER problems) but didn't fix it. I tried Sys sets > Assis Tech > Keybrd and tried setting Only Accept Long Keypresses and setting it short, but had no effect. I tried disabling gdm by "sudo sys-rc-conf" and by gdm, put X under ALL run levels, rebooted and no effect ie same gui with slow key read. Swapped keyboards, no change. My other pc, running 11.04, works ok. It's 1.5 years old, the problem one is only 6 months old. After login, keyboard works perfect. [Bug 23810] Re: Evolution is unusable in 1024x768
I don't understand everyone's solutions here. The solution is NOT to set the size to XXX height, but to have the program query for the screen size and then choose a height based on that. My screen (a netbook) is only 600 pixels tall. But there may be others with even smaller screens, or others that are bigger. What should happen is the window should use a Viewport that has scrollbar capabilities. If the components in the viewport are larger than the height of the viewport, it'll shows scrollbars. But the viewport will be no taller than whatever the screensize is. [Bug 515139] Re: Icons from gnome panel are missing at random on startup
I've installed Ubuntu on about 20 machines, and have never seen or heard about this until tonight. One person who I did an install for wrote me and said he couldn't find trash anywhere. I wrote back and sent him a screen shot of my desktop showing him where it was, and also told him how to find it through using places. He just sent me a screenshot of his desktop, and trash does not appear in the panel or anywhere on his desktop, nor does it appear in the menu section either. He is going to try adding trash applet to the panel and see if that works. -- Icons from gnome panel are missing at random on startup https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/515139 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-panel in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 507189] Re: Mahjongg: 3 pairs of same tile, w/screenshot
Out of curiosity, I replayed the same seed while checking off the tiles on the postmodern.svg in gimp to determine which non-blue non-gold tile was skipped, and it was the green character after the red Zhong (δΈ), which only appeared in one pair. The blue winter tiles appeared as only one of each 1 2 3 4. The gold summer tiles appeared as: 1, 2, 3, 3, 4, 4. I realize this is likely trivial, and that it may not be a bug at all and just a rare random result of the drawing algorithm, but I felt it might be of interest to some. -- Mahjongg: 3 pairs of same tile, w/screenshot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/507189 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-games in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 476107] Re: Ubuntu Studio new install fails if not connected to the internet
Figuring out how to report new bugs was not extremely hard, but it was not trivial either. You may be missing lots of potentially important input. Grub 2 is SO DIFFERENT. I would be useful to make it really easy to find a simple howto for things like changing your default boot system, timeout, etc. Again, not extremely hard but far from trivial. Who knows ... maybe it would be easier for new users than existing grub who thought they knew what they were looking for. -- Ubuntu Studio new install fails if not connected to the internet https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/476107 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to yelp in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 476107] [NEW] Ubuntu Studio new install fails if not connected to the internet
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: yelp I tried installing both the 64bit and 32 bit versions of Ubuntu Studio 9.10 on my Dell XPS Studio 13 Laptop. Both failed the same way. BACKGROUND I had previously successfully installed 9.04. My hard drive was partitioned to allow dual boot with Vista. Instead of "upgrading" I tried treating the process as a new install, and I manually instructed the disk partitioning phase of the install to reformat the old etx3 partition I had used as root / on 9.04 as ext4 (also to be mounted as my new root /). Since I normally use my wifi internet connection I skipped the network configuration part of booting (since the dhcp attempt would fail anyway due to my WAP set up). Although I did not try it, I think it would have failed even if I manually tried to enter the correct WAP settings since I needed the "non-opensource Broadcom drivers" to get my WIFI device working. I recommend a more robust install script to determine if special drivers are needed during install and to support the option of using them (or at least detect that it will not work and gracefully bypass network config with helpful messages about what to do after install to get wireless working). But that is not my bug. At some point during the software installation phase (both 32 bit and 64 bit versions), there was an error. I never got detailed feedback about what failed (bad for you - bad for me). The installer did give me the option to retry or attempt to continue but I could not make any further progress - all attempts ended up with the same result. I ultimately had to force a restart. Because this error ocurred after my old EXT 3 partition had been reformatted but before the new bootloader was installed, I could no longer reboot from my hard drive. Another attempt to run the installer while connected physically to my router with an ehternet cable worked fine. Note - there was no damage to my other partitions. In particular my Vista partition was undamaged or changed. Nevertheless, I regard this as a serious bug or limitation. Novice users might easily have panicked when they got to a point where they could no longer boot from their hard drive, thinking the only way out was to re-image the disk (thus loosing all their files). This problem no longer exists in Evolution 2.6.1-0ubuntu2 2009-05-15, which I installed in a recent update. Previously I saw no events on my calendar, now I see them all. I compared my previous calendar.ics file in ~/.evolution/calendar/local/system to the current one, and the only difference is the positions of the two VTIMEZONE records are now interchanged. Maybe it is unusual to have two of these records, and when there are two of these records their order is significant. Note that the gnome bug 580477 that I created on 2009-04-27 no longer exists. -- evolution calendar from 8.10 not read in 9.04 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/367658 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
