This bug also affects me (gvfs 1.14.0-0ubuntu6 @ Ubuntu 12.10 i386). I've tested the simple work around suggested by interferenc #49 --thanks for that!-- and for me the best MTU number was 700. Any number seems to make better file transfer than "automatic" MTU (I've tested 4-5 numbers in between 300 and 1200).
I would still have the transfer randomly stopping now and then, but in most cases it would resume after a while, as opposed to permanently stopping like it used to happen with the default "automatic" MTU option. There is probably a speed reduction, but -- at least for me -- it is worth waiting a little longer and having the files transferred with no errors. (tests were made transferring a 30Mb network folder, with 130 .jpg files, into the Desktop) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gvfs in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1075923 Title: nautilus hangs copying large directories from a samba share To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gvfs/+bug/1075923/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
