[Bug 1572611] [NEW] Nautilus (files) doesn't lock to launcher

2016-04-20 Thread Fernando
Public bug reported:

I'm on an up-to-date Xenial. When I open nautilus, the icon shows up in
the launcher for about one second before disapearing. Nautilus keeps
running, but the icon is not there, in particular there is no way to
lock it, as it was up to this morning. The same happens if I mount, eg
my mobile phone.

[Bug 240727] Re: epiphany crash on www.meebo.com

I can reproduce it here with version 2.22.2.

Openning meebo yields the following crash message:

Maybe people at meebo changed something again? (I'm quite sure this did
not happen a few weeks ago)

[Bug 561734] Re: quadrapassel doesn't start: Failed to initialise clutter: Unable to select the newly created GLX context

2010-04-18 Thread Fernando
I tried this game in two differents computers. Both 64 bits, with
nouveau drivers.

Yesterday, if ran from the menu, didn't happends. If ran from CLI it
shows the error "Unable to make the stage windows the current GLX
drawable" but the game ran perfectly.

Today, after many upgrades in one of the machines, it doesn't work even from
CLI. Now the error is:
failed to create drawable
Failed to initialise clutter: Unable to select the newly created GLX context

(I did not upgrade the other machine because that was using a bootable
USB)

[Bug 1876647] Re: Nautilus search in gnome-shell performance regression

2020-05-07 Thread Fernando
This is probably related to the following bug:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1874972

File search in overview mode is now always done full-text. I think that
the intended behavior is doing it exclusively by file name in overview
and optionally in nautilus. Please, confirm you're also affected by this
other bug and mark it there to attract attention.

[Bug 1900908] [NEW] Mutter doesn't apply gsettings appropriately to Wacom tablet

2020-10-21 Thread Fernando
Public bug reported:

I have a Wacom Intuos VT M tablet in a setting with two monitors (laptop
+ external). Under an up-to-date Ubuntu Focal running X, if I map the
tablet to a single monitor it fails to map it more often than not. A
reliable way of getting failure is first connecting the tablet via
bluetooth and then via USB. The only way to revert to a correct behavior
is reseting X (ALT+F2 r). This is necessary even after rebooting.

I've noticed that, when not working well, the problem is that Mutter
sends the mapping data to the "Wacom Intuos BT M Pad pad" device, while
it should be sending them to "Wacom Intuos BT M Pad stylus" (this is
what it does when it works well).

Under Wayland it works well (well, the tablet buttons don't work under
Wayland but this is unrelated).

[Bug 1900906] Re: Can't use dead keys or input e.g. Chinese characters in GNOME shell

2021-01-15 Thread Fernando
The bug persists with accented characters if the dead key is the first
character you type. I mean, open the overview, type "á" and you see just
"a". Then type another "á" and it shows correctly. Same if you type
"lá", the accent shows correctly because the dead key wasn't the first
thing you typed.

doesn't always happens in the same place, despite I've tried to hit the

[Bug 1833197] Re: crashes when creating annotations (Segmentation fault (core dumped))

2019-06-21 Thread Fernando
Hi Sebastien, thanks for your prompt reply. I'm in the latest LTS. I
don't see any trace of the crash. Maybe it was automatically reported? I
think I have it configured that way. I'll try to reproduce it and then
go through the instructions in the link, although, as I say, it's hard
to reproduce. I just happens after creating annotations for a while.

[Bug 322366] [NEW] Use key 'x' as accelerator for spanish translation of Maximize

2009-01-28 Thread Fernando Muñoz
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: metacity

This is probably an enhacement request, I'm used to the keyboard
shortcut for handling windows, at home I use Ubuntu on english, and the
accelerator for the Maximize action is x, however at work, I've to
install Ubuntu in spanish, and the accelerator for Maximizar is a. If
the x is available as accelerator, shouldn't it be used by default?

Alt + Space + X is something I've been using since I had Windows 95, so
it's annoying every time I have to use Ubuntu in spanish.

[Bug 525368] Re: problem when adding new panels to gnome desktop

2010-04-27 Thread Fernando Ciciliati
The same happens to me with Lucid updated to now.

Maybe this helps debugging:

- When using two monitors, if you add a new panel to the right border of
the screen that is on the left side, the panel is rendered on the left
edge of the screen that is on the right side.

- In a single monitor setup, if you add a new panel to the bottom of the
screen (in addition to the default one), the existing panel is moved up
and a space for the new panel is allocated between it and the bottom of
the screen. Very probably the new panel is then rendered below this
space, out of the visible screen area.

So the "invisibility" reported is in fact the panel being rendered out
of the screen.

Restarting X makes the panels visible in their correct positions.

seb i've been trying to make it easier for our company users to do it,
since they get pre-installed machines and i advice them to change the
hostname to something familiar i'll be looking to see if we can port
the installer setup to be used on 1st login, but till then, using
Control Panel looked the best way (changing hosts and hostname via cli
could be a bit dangerous for some users)

still crashing!!

on a side note: lots of old users will still try to use
sudo/gksu/gksudo/dkesudo on hardy. this should some way make more
visible, for older users.

GPG Keys but only one SSH.
Also this bug was against Hardy and not Gutsy.
