Re: [Bug 50198] Re: Timeout has expired error on resume from hibernate

2010-12-12 Thread Forest Bond
Hi,

I should also probably mention that of the four laptops I work with,
this error only occurs on the one which doesn't automatically resume
upon the lid being opened. On the machine with the error, my Asus

the lid. My other three machines resume simply by the lid being opened.

Could the error be related to resetting a timer based on a lid-open
event that doesn't occur when a key-press is used like with my 1015PEM
 netbook?

No, I see this problem on my HP Mini 110, which properly resumes on lid
open.

[Bug 212789] Re: gvfs fuse mount is not functional after logout and subsequent login

Craig, and other folks suffering from the segfault issue: that is a
separate issue, and you should create a separate ticket to deal with it.

I, too, am seeing the bad mount state after logout/login. Another
particularly high profile user has also seen it:

http://arstechnica.com/reviews/os/hardy-heron-review.ars/5

This seems like it might be a somewhat widespread issue, and a
relatively simple work-around is available. Perhaps a SRU is justified?

[Bug 75183] gnome-pilot windows open repeatedly for loose palm connection

2006-12-09 Thread Forest Bond
Public bug reported:

It would be an improvement if there was some sort of hysteresis for palm
connects. If connection status varies rapidly (5-10 times in less then
a second), it would be good if only one window popped up. Is it
possible to introduce a good delay?

[Bug 75184] device selection is not user friendly

2006-12-09 Thread Forest Bond
Public bug reported:

The gnome-pilot device configuration window that pops up when a palm is
plugged in for the first time presents a drop down with e.g.
/dev/ttyUSB0, etc...

Couldn't this be made more user-friendly? The user I am working with
had no idea what to do with that. He ended up with a /dev/pilot entry
in that menu. I'm not sure if he entered that manually, or if it was
already included. There was no such device on his system.

[Bug 74589] On Close: Save Changes To ... ? Window Exhibits Odd Behavior

2006-12-05 Thread Forest Bond
Public bug reported:

When closing gedit, if the document has not yet been saved, gedit asks
if it should save the document. My tendency is to use tab to move from
one control to the next. In doing so, I have noticed that the two text
labels in the window will accept cursor focus. I can select and copy
text from these labels, however, they appear as though they should be
static fields that cannot be used in this way. Just seems like a bit of
a quirk, but should probably be fixed.

To be clear, I was able to copy and paste the following text, but I
don't think that that should be possible:

Save the changes to document Unsaved Document 1 before closing?
If you don't save, changes from the last 46 hours will be permanently lost.

[Bug 62623] cdbs-edit-patch fails due to debian/rules whitespace

2006-09-27 Thread Forest Bond
Public bug reported:

With this line in debian/rules:

DEB_TAR_SRCDIR := snd-8

cdbs-edit-patch inappropriately executes:

diff -Nur snd-8.4/build-tree/ snd-8 snd-8.4.new/build-tree/ snd-8
/home/fab/work/debs/snd/build/snd-8.4/debian/patches/newpatch.patch

Naturally, this gives an error:

diff: extra operand `snd-8.4.new/build-tree/'
diff: Try `diff --help' for more information.

Changes debian/rules line to this fixes the problem:

DEB_TAR_SRCDIR :=snd-8

(note no space before snd-8)

cdbs-edit-patch should account for whitespace in this string, correct?
Or perhaps the whitespace shouldn't be there at all? Should make be
removing it automatically?
