[Bug 223075] Re: gnome main menu applet makes panel size to large

2008-04-29 Thread Frank Niedermann
sure, I've attached the screenshot with comparison of the size and
description. does that help? need anything else? but I believe the issue
is reproduceable on every Ubuntu Hardy installation ... just create a
new panel, set size to 17 pixel, add the gnome main menu and it will get
bigger automatically.

could it be that it's the ubuntu icon next to the gnome main menu that's
forcing the size? because the font itself is small enough ...

thanks for your help,
  Frank

[Bug 94048] Re: [feisty] Slow gnome application startup due to /etc/hosts misconfiguration

2007-03-21 Thread Frank Niedermann
there is more information in this thread:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=388765

and I some (many?) people have replied that they have the same behavior.

I can not test it or provide information as I'm not on Feisty yet and it
seems only to occur on Feisty.

2007-03-20 Thread Frank Niedermann
why was this bug rejected? will it be fixed in feisty as many users
(according to the ubuntu forums) have performance increase after adding
the described changes?

Sebastien,

I was not aware of this situation, it just seemed to me that the bug got

Comment:
I can confirm it on a wired network environment.

I had the exact same environment with Breezy and no issues, nautilus on
Dapper has these issues. So it has to be a change from nautilus-Breezy
to nautilus-Dapper.

the issue is not solved (at least not for me). Is there a chance to fix

Francois-Denis, could you attach the deb-file you've created with dpkg-
buildpackage? This way I would not have to install about 30 MB dev-
packages :)

BTW: control-center 2.14.0 is available, but still contains the bug.
