[Bug 1866219] Re: Login screen hangs
@vanvugt I appreciate your help. I did removed all the extensions and disabled the animation. However this did not helped to mitigate the issue. I found a tweak to mitigate the issue on bug#1866256 (@ernstp) by again enabling the animation again which resolved the issue. [Bug 598540] [NEW] [wishlist] Empathy should mirror webcam video stream
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: empathy When viewing the webcam feed of myself during a video call, it's very unnatural to see the actual image being sent to my friend. I am used to the mirrored image from Google Talk Video, Kopete, and most other chat clients. Mirroring the video feed makes the image far more intuitive to interact with (Because it's like looking into a mirror!), and Empathy should allow for it. Obviously, the video feed that's sent to the person on the other end should not be mirrored, but the one shown to the local user in front of the camera should be. [Bug 597481] [NEW] Empathy doesn't play sounds when chats are focused
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: empathy This is probably more of a wishlist item, but I find it to be a big usability bug, personally. When I am using Empathy at my job, I will sometimes look away from my personal computer for various reasons (attending to customers or to my work computer, etc.) However, any messages I receive while my personal computer is focused on the chat window are not easily noticeable. There is no notification, the messaging icon doesn't turn green, and no sounds are played. This leads to missed messages, and is very bothersome for me. The problem is exacerbated with my power setting set to sleep my display after 1 minute, because then there's no way to tell whether somebody has contacted me unless I wake up my screen. My current workaround is to unfocus the empathy window after each message, but that's a hassle because I have to reach for my sub-par touchpad to do so on my personal computer. There should be an option in the sound preferences pane to enable or disable sounds even when the chat window is focused. [Bug 559779] [NEW] clock-applet weather display doesn't show weather tooltip on top pixel mouseover
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-panel When the clock-applet is enabled, and a location is set, and the weather is displayed, mousing over the weather will pop up a tooltip showing additional information about the current conditions. However, the top row of pixels of the clock applet above the weather display don't show weather information, but rather, the "Click to view your appointments and tasks" tooltip. It's bothersome, because when one flings the cursor to the edge of the screen onto the weather, one has to then move the mouse down at least one pixel to see weather information. I'm currently running Ubuntu lucid Beta 2 x86, and Clock 2.30.0. What I did: Hover the mouse over the top row of pixels in the weather section of the clock applet What should have happened: A tooltip showing the current weather conditions should have appeared What happened: The tooltip "Click to view your appointments and tasks" appeared ** Affects: gnome-panel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- clock-applet weather display doesn't show weather tooltip on top pixel mouseover https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/559779 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-panel in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

It's still a problem for me, I'm running Ubuntu Lucid Beta 1 x86 with Gnome 2.3.0, and it's quite a bother to have to use the keyboard to navigate menus on a netbook.
