i have the same problem installing gnome-games. i eventually purged
gnome-games and gnome-games-data from my computer. now, attempting to
install the package with aptitude produces a similar error. here is

I think you are right about a broken installation. I'm running Gutsy Herd 5 (plus updates). I had been running Gutsy since Herd 3, but i reinstalled at one point. It was after that when GNOME-control-center stopped working.
