I am now also experiencing the same bug as Effenberg's last comment above:
"Now when I send attached files with known extensions, like doc, pdf, jpg, etc other people receive these files as .dat, .txt, depending on the client or webmail service they use." I now use Evolution 2.22.2-0Ubuntu1. I also have Crossover Office 6.1.0 installed and ran the utility scripts that updates the mime type associations. I have no problems with associations elsewhere such as Nautilus. But it is impossible to extract .doc attachments from emails sent by me.
