[Bug 72210] wishlist: should ship -dev and plugins packages for rb

2006-11-17 Thread Guillermo Gutiérrez Herrera
Public bug reported:

I think you should split the actually rhythmbox package into a -dev
(includes and libraries, in order to build plugins against it) and one
-plugins containing the remaining plugins or maybe one package for each
pluggable plugin. In other way, could you include development headers
etc. into the rhythmbox package?

Actually I'm working on a liveice plugin for rhythmbox based on xmms-
liveice; and this would help me a lot.

thx

[Bug 65990] Birthdates before 1970 does not work

2006-10-13 Thread Guillermo Gutiérrez Herrera
Public bug reported:

birthdates before 1970, p. e. March 4, 1968 is interpreted as 2068. I think
this is due to the format used in evolution to save the dates (maybe the number
of seconds since Jan 1 1970). When editing the information about a contact, you
must enter it in DD/MM/YY format, but evolution should allow 4 digits for the
year.

[Bug 35933] Re: Nick:Password support for irc protocol

2006-04-07 Thread Guillermo Gutiérrez Herrera
I think it is "standard in fact" on ircd servers enhanced with databases. This
way, the passwords of nicks are saved directly on a main database or on a
distributed database between ircd nodes (in md5, crc32,...). Then, when bot
service's node fall down, authentication of nicks continues working (other
advantage is that you don't need to send /msg nickserv identify pass to login).

I know this servers and this spanish networks:
ircu -> irc.irc-hispano.org
unrealircd+udb -> irc.redmundial.org

In irc clients, per example in mIRC, it is neccesary to configure your nickname
as nick:pass simply (pass in plain text, sure).

To login, users type /nick nick:pass and then, /server irc-server
To kill ghosted nicks type /nick nick!pass and then /server irc-server

What do you think?

https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/33149

Comment:

time I'm trying directly, not using xdmcp)

The program 'gaim' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)'.
  (Details: serial 164691 error_code 3 request_code 10 minor_code 0)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
   that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
   To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
   option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
   backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

Program exited with code 01.

The program 'gaim' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)'.
  (Details: serial 1300205 error_code 3 request_code 10 minor_code 0)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
   that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
   To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
   option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
   backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

Program exited with code 01.
(gdb) bt
No stack.
