[Bug 1175379] [NEW] Provide a way to set a custom zoom percentage

2013-05-01 Thread H2G
Public bug reported:

I'm trying to use evinci 3.6.0 but I didn't find any way to set a custom
value for the zoom (so that I can get rid of the large margins of some
PDFs).

Please provide some way for the user to define specific % values (or
even better, an automatic way to show only the visible text, with none
or just a minimun amount of blank space around it).

[Bug 1153271] [NEW] When renaming a file, nautilus should not discard the new name if it is invalid

2013-03-10 Thread H2G
Public bug reported:

1. Create a file 'Example' in any folder
2. Select it
3. Press F2 to allow changing its name
4. Replace by some invalid name such as "Example/Foo" (which contains a bar "/")
5. Confirm by pressing ENTER

There will be this warning (in Portuguese):

Não foi possível renomear o item.
Desculpe, não foi possível renomear "Example" para "Example/Foo": Barras não
são permitidas nos nomes dos arquivos

and the new text "Example/Foo" will be gone.

It would be better if after the warning is closed, nautilus would focus
on the field for renaming the file, and not delete the new name so the
user can easily fix the invalid character (e.g. replace "/" by "-").
This is particularly important if the new name chosen by the user is
long, because in that case it would not be fun having to type it again.

[Bug 939080] [NEW] Horizontal scrollbar and tooltip shouldn't hide the name of the last file

2012-02-22 Thread H2G
Public bug reported:

If a folder has a lot of files and the last one of them has a long name,
every time you point the mouse over some file you won't be able to see
the (full) name of the last file. Moving the mouse to the right or to
the left over to change the position of the yellow tooltip doesn't
helps, because it will still hide part of the name. This way, it is very
difficult e.g. to rename the last file because we can't see what we are
doing. See the attached screenshot for an example.

Please improve the usability of nautilus by fixing this issue.

I'm using Ubuntu 11.10, nautilus 1:3.2.1-0ubuntu4.1.

[Bug 937054] Re: Allow renaming all files when copying or moving files

2012-02-20 Thread H2G
The names should be as in
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=306489
E.g.: suppose there are files named
* fileA.jpg
* fileB.jpg
* fileC.jpg
* fileC (1).jpg
* fileC (2).jpg
and the user is copying the files
* fileA.jpg
* fileB.jpg
* fileC.jpg
* fileD.jpg
to the same folder. The program already provide the option to rename
"fileA.jpg" to something else, but it disable the option to rename all. If such
an option were enabled it would rename the files by adding "(1)", "(2)", ... to
the end of the filenames and the folder would have the following files after
the operation is finished:
* fileA.jpg
* fileA (1).jpg
* fileB.jpg
* fileB (1).jpg
* fileC.jpg
* fileC (1).jpg
* fileC (2).jpg
* fileC (3).jpg
* fileD.jpg

[Bug 937054] [NEW] Allow renaming all files when copying or moving files

2012-02-20 Thread H2G
Public bug reported:

Suppose we cut or copy 1000 files from a folder and paste them on a
second folder containing among its files 500 files whose names coincide
with those which are being pasted on the folder. Although the program
currently detects the conflicting names and provide, for each
conflicting file, the option to rename the new file to keep both in the
target folder, the user will need to rename all 500 files by hand during
the process, and this is very unpractical.

The option to apply the (rename) action to all files shouldn't be
disabled.
