[Bug 1427877] Re: Media, brightness and volume keys don't work with GNOME 3.15.90
Hey there Tim thanks for the fix. 1) Was that a regression and you saw some kind a delta to the previous version? Is that possible? Thats one think I wished for while I was debugging 2) Since this is runtime, there should be some kind of integration test, correct? If so how do write one so similar incidents happen again -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1427877 Title: Media, brightness and volume keys don't work with GNOME 3.15.90 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/1427877/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1427877] Re: Media, brightness and volume keys don't work with GNOME 3.15.90
Please see the updated conversation in the gnome Bugtracker. For me I looks like this a thing related to (d/p/revert-gsettings- removals.patch: Refreshed), because if I disable the wacom plugin.. sudo mv /usr/lib/gnome-settings-daemon-3.0/wacom.gnome-settings-plugin /usr/lib/gnome-settings-daemon-3.0/.wacom.gnome-settings-plugin.bak gsd works as expected again. (yay!) @Joe can you confirm? I don't why we didn't catch that earlier. Is it the case the patches are already applied in the source I download with `apt-get source gnome-settings-daemon` and I have to revert the manually? I thought it would suffice to delete all patches in debian/patches directory. Also in the patch there is a reference to (" plugins/power/gsd-power- manager.c | 32 +"), but the actual change is not there. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1427877 Title: Media, brightness and volume keys don't work with GNOME 3.15.90 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/1427877/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Re: [Bug 808573] Re: Trash folder cleaning
I don't care what you do, I did what I had to do. It's not for me to tell you why and how there is a bug. I told you as much as I knew to tell. I am not a programmer. Previously you referred me to an article from a programmer who was saying please don't insult our intelligence; which made me wonder if there was any intelligence to be insulted. As for myself i am quite satisfied of my own IQ (not Einstein but well over average) but I don't feel i have to apply it to solve your problems. And I don't feel you insult my intelligence since I don't take offense from people who know not what they say. Like I said before I am a user of these programs and not a programmer and I don't intend to become one. If you don't want to look into it, that's your business. As for me if I have a problem in the futur i will try another software. [Bug 24195] Re: OpenDocument plugin should be shipped with Abiword, not -plugins
In order to be modular, it has been made a decision in AbiWord to make import/export filter to be plugins. These plugins are in a separate tree, BUT they are shipped in the same tarball, hence they are part of the abiword source package in Debian/Ubuntu. OpenDocument itself appeared around 2.4.1/2.4.2. The problem lies that Debian/Ubuntu actually split the package and so the ODT plugins isn't part of the main abiword package. To fix the problem, the package building scripts should just be modified to include the plugin directly in the abiword binary package. Note that the AbiWord developer are planing to eventual merge the plugin tree in the abi tree (without changing the result).
