[Bug 505645] Re: Sansa Clip+ (CLIPP, Clip Plus) digital audio player not recognised properly

2014-03-08 Thread Ian Nicholson
The following relevant files are in /usr/share/media-player-info/:
sandisk_sansa-clip.mpi
sandisk_sansa-clip-plus.mpi
sandisk_sansa-clip-v2.mpi
sandisk_sansa-clip-zip.mpi

According to http://www.sandisk.com/products/music-video-players/clip-
sport/, it supports: MP3, WMA (NO DRM), AAC, Ogg Vorbis, WAV, FLAC, and
Audible (DRM only). The playback folder seem to be /Audible/,
/Audiobooks/, /Music/, and /Podcasts/.

[Bug 1217180] [NEW] incorrect usage of notifications

2013-08-26 Thread Ian Nicholson
Public bug reported:

Rhythmbox notifications appear seperately for each song. For example,
clicking the next song several times in quick succession will cause
the program to play each song for less than a second. The notifications
however, display for several seconds each, resulting in the correct
notification appearing significantly after its corresponding song has
started playing.

Re: [Bug 304477] Re: Ctrl-L is a poor keybinding for Clear

2013-05-06 Thread Ian Nicholson
Think about it this way: having to use a different keybinding to clear
the cache is much less irritating than having (potentially) multiple
days of communication disappear with no ability to recall. Also, I would
guess that the number of people who use ctrl+L as a shortcut for the url
bar is much higher than the number of people who use it to clear a text
buffer.
Basically, a shortcut as frequently used as ctrl-L should not be a
destructive action that can't be reverted.
Probably the best solution would be a configurable shortcut for clearing
the cache.

I managed to declare my GTalk account as a jabber one and chose to

 Encryption required – CHECKED
Ignore SSL certificate errors – CHECKED
 Resource – BLANK
 Priority – 0
 Server – talk.google.com
 Port – 5223
 Use old SSL – CHECKED

At least there is no more warning that pops up every 5 minutes.

It is an acceptable workaround for me, but I find it confusing that I
needed to switch to a manual jabber configuration to do that.

Unfortunately for me, my account is on my personal jabber server, set up
as a jabber account in empathy, so that workaround doesn't help me.
