[Bug 192508] Re: mouse keys too easy to accidently turn on

2013-10-21 Thread Id2ndR
In saucy the combination is Alt + LShift + NumLock. The problem is that it is
not listed in Settings Keyboard Shortcuts Universal Access.
It's also difficult to find Settings Universal Access Pointing and Clicking
Mouse Keys (Control the pointer using the keypad) to go back to normal
behavior after using the combination by mistake.
In fact it was easier for me to find
org/gnome/desktop/a11y/keyboard/mousekeys-enable=true using dconf dump / (this
is a paradox about accessibility! )

In saucy lightdm should depend on a greater like lightdm-gtk-greeter for
example: uninstalling lightdm and installing ubuntu-desktop meta-package
made DM end just after showing the cursor.

[Bug 984785] Re: .goutputstream files polluting $HOME

2013-10-04 Thread Id2ndR
It seams like it's fixed in saucy. I encountered the trouble in precise
and it seams it was related to X/lightdm because of MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE
it contains. It often occurs at the time I shut down the computer (the
friday afternoon after five days being up or suspended).

[Bug 911838] [NEW] Unity unusable when trying to move tab between 2 gedit windows

2012-01-04 Thread Id2ndR
Public bug reported:

STR (100% reproductible):
- open a text file with Nautilus
- open an other text file using File lens of Unity
= You get 2 windows of gedit instead of a new tab in the first window
- try to move the tab between the 2 windows
= gedit consumes 100% of one CPU ; There is a hand pointer instead of an
arrow ; gedit windows become gray because they aren't responding to the window
manager
- kill gedit process
= You can now use your X session again because the pointer is release.

I have the same trouble. Can you confirm that you use Ubuntu 11.10 ?

1/ The contact send me a message. The notification buble appears with the text
and indicator turn blue.
2/ In the indicator, I click on the line bellow IM. The line can be empty.
See bug #842428
3/ If I open the contact history, I can read the previous messages.
4/ If the contact send me one more message in the active conversation, I got
the notification buble, but it doesn't appeas in the history.
4'/ If I click on today on the history, then the message appears
or
4''/ If the contact send me a second message, the previous one is push in the
history

[Bug 631638] Re: palimpsest thinks that USB2 is 480MB/s instead of 480Mb/s

2011-08-20 Thread Id2ndR
It is a shame that Ubuntu developers ask users to check again and again
if the bug still exists in development version without doing anything
then, and despite users gave the simple way to know if the bug still
exists.

However, I just check on oneric, and of course the bug still is present,
so I switched back the status to confirm.

I just know the next step will be this is an upstream bug so please
open a bug in gnome bug tracker so I will wait few more useless time.

[Bug 654249] Re: libnss-ldap create troubles in gnome session when ldap server is unreacheable

2010-11-27 Thread Id2ndR
@Etienne Goyer: I changed the timelimit and bind policy, installed
libnss-ldapd and now I don't get trouble with the gnome-session. However
I got other trouble like bug #672521.

I aggree with your analysis but I'm still looking for a paintless
solution. I'll probably write a shell script that change my
nsswitch.conf file when the avability of the ldap directory changes.

I can confirm on Ubuntu 10.10 that the trouble appears most of the time with
the image that you attached.
I get the trouble with other images (like screenshot produced by
gnome-screenshot) but the rate of failure is lower with these one.

Interesting, I tried this : $ while true; do eog

On my computer, the image appears about 50% of the time. I often get 3
or 4 tries with the images, and the 3 or 4 next tries the window of eog
doesn't appear. I fail to get the window with no image inside using the
commands above.

[Bug 293933] Re: Need to be able to determine/slow down the CD burning speed. This is especially important for ISO files, which generally must be burned to CDs quite slowly.

2010-10-31 Thread Id2ndR
I have this trouble too. I'm running Ubuntu 10.10 to burn a dvd+rw and brasero
burns it at 4.0x instead of the settings of 2.4x.
Notice that we shouldn't have this trouble have been solved in bug #177124 (but
apparently this is not really fixed).

Yes it is very easy to reproduce it: just wait for someone to send you a
message (without opening the conversation first) and click on the
messaging menu just after you received it (in fact quickly enough to
open the conversation before the old notification disapears).

[Bug 631621] [NEW] evolution-alarm-notify still launch wheras Evolution was remove

2010-09-06 Thread Id2ndR
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

Dist : Ubuntu 10.10 (beta)

STP:
- Uninstall Evolution from Ubuntu Software Store
- $ dpkg -l evolution
= The package state is rc.
- $ dpkg -L evolution
= The file /etc/xdg/autostart/evolution-alarm-notify.desktop still exist
- $ dpkg -S /usr/lib/evolution/2.30/evolution-alarm-notify
= libevolution provide the binary
- $ ps -ef | grep evolution
fabiena 1806 1731 0 09:41 ?00:00:00
/usr/lib/evolution/2.30/evolution-alarm-notify
fabiena 1841 1 0 09:41 ?00:00:00
/usr/lib/evolution/e-calendar-factory
fabiena 1851 1 0 09:41 ?00:00:00
/usr/lib/evolution/e-addressbook-factory
fabiena 2777 3405 0 16:25 pts/000:00:00 grep evolution
= Amazing

Expected result: when evolution is uninstalled, there neither should be
any program directly related to evolution installed nor even running !

The trouble can be definitely fixed by purging 3 packages: $ sudo apt-
get purge evolution libevolution evolution-data-server

[Bug 631638] [NEW] palimpsest thinks that USB2 is 480MB/s instead of 480Mb/s

[Bug 34813] Re: gedit fails to save files over smbfs/cifs

2010-08-18 Thread Id2ndR
It appears that this bug is fix for cifs mount in 2.30 (according to
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=336738#c35).
I still encountered this bug using sshfs with 2.30 (Ubuntu 10.04).

So I'm not sure that the sshfs and cifs/smbfs trouble is the same one
and maybe there should be 2 separate bugs.

I also would like to know if the patch applied in Robie Basak's package can
still be use for gedit 2.30 ?
The patch isn't attached to this bug, so where can I grab it ?

[Bug 615305] [NEW] [maverick] Empathy always display offline contacts at startup

2010-08-09 Thread Id2ndR
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: empathy

This bug is the exact opposite of Bug #566909: it seems that Empathy is
unable to respect the initial actual value for
/apps/empathy/ui/show_offline (false). The contact list always shows
online contacts at startup and I need to change the View → Offline
Contacts menu entry to unchecked it.

I runned empathy in a terminal and I see that:
(empathy:2321): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: specified class size for type
`DConfSettingsBackend' is smaller than the parent type's `GSettingsBackend'
class size

I think that the migration from gsttings to dconfsettings may be the
trouble.

[Bug 615103] Re: autostart of gnome-settings-daemon can be prevent by one file

2010-08-09 Thread Id2ndR
I agree with you. However I got a trouble because of this design : I
disabled and remove the launch of g-s-d using gnome-session-properties
but g-s-d still doesn't launch during following startup.

I will open a separate bug for this because gnome-session-properties
doesn't show .desktop file that are still present (you should remove the
file by hand) and may prevent the session to start normally.

[Bug 588155] Re: randomly gnome-settings-daemon fails to start

2010-08-08 Thread Id2ndR
i have encountered this trouble too. However it doesn't occur at each
boot.

Dist : Ubuntu 10.04 x64
GPU : nvidia 8600GT with driver of serie 256 (from x-swat-x-updates ppa)
GDM : autostartup (without delay)

I tried to got the debug output doing the modification of the attached
patch, but the trouble doesn't appears doing this (at least for the 5
tries I made since this). Maybe others will success in doing this.

My idea is that there is a race condition between dbus and g-s-d that
prevent g-s-d to start if dbus isn't totally ready, but I can't prove
it, and I don't now how to log the startup of dbus and g-s-d.

[Bug 588155] Re: randomly gnome-settings-daemon fails to start

2010-08-08 Thread Id2ndR
Some precisions:
- if g-s-d still doesn't start after applying the modification I added, errors
will be traced in ~/.xsession-errors file.
- if g-s-d start after applying the modification I added, I think this is
because the computation of log(s output take some time and 'slow down the
startup of g-s-d. This may be the sign of the race condition that I suspect,
but it will be harder to debug.

[Bug 597221] Re: Empathy changes status to away when I put the computer to suspend, but doesn't change it back when I wake up the computer

2010-07-01 Thread Id2ndR
The feature that change my status to away seams to be the one
described in bug #544242. However this should not append because Martin
Mai says in comment #6 that it's fixed in maverick but not in lucid. So
what part on Ubuntu changes my status to away ?

[Bug 546838] [NEW] Slide show in evince is not correctly display on a dual head setup

2010-03-25 Thread Id2ndR
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evince

System : Lucid with updates of 23/03/10
Graphic driver : nouveau

STP:
- setup a dual head (not in clone mode)
- open a pdf in evince
- hit F5

Actual result:
- the page isn't centered on the display but seems centered on the size of the
virtual display (2720 x 1024 in my example with 1440x900 and 1280x1024 screens)
- the page is correctly display on only one screen (depending of the screen on
which was the window)
= about the left part of the page can be see on the screen. Look at attached
screenshot to understand what I try to explain.

Expected result:
- the page should be centered on the screen where it is displayed instead of
the virtual display.

Following sam tygier's comment, I'd expect a button Ok, don't notify me
again and an other Remind me in few days that would be more useful
that the annoying popup at each login.

Re: [Bug 398008] Re: awn uses 100% cpu with gtk+ 2.17.3 (csw)

2009-08-13 Thread Id2ndR

However (but I should search if there is an other existing bug for that)
there is a with compiz when preview's thumbnail plugin is activated :
when it should draw the thumbnail compiz crash. This is true with both
awn packages (from Julien's ppa and universe repository).

Offhand, this doesn't look like it's relevant to this bug (or to Awn,
for that matter). You probably want to file a compiz bug (if one doesn't
 already exist)

Done. This is Bug #413094.
