[Bug 998156] Re: GTK Print dialog sends broken custom page size attribute: "PageSize=Custom.Custom.x"

2013-08-11 Thread Jan Heitkötter
In my case, printing to PDF in the first place and then printing that
PDF to printer worked.

This is a bug tracker -- please address further "how to" questions in
the forums.

[Bug 900501] Re: Video import in Shotwell creates wrong date

2013-07-21 Thread Jan Heitkötter
@Matthew: yes, I know how to fix that, but I prefer if it works
correctly in the first place. BTW, it works correctly when videos are
copied manually into Shotwell's library folder instead of using that
import feature.

[Bug 900501] Re: Video import in Shotwell creates wrong date

2013-01-27 Thread Jan Heitkötter
I have an HTC Desire S which I recently upgraded from Android 2.3 to 4.0
(official HTC ROM). Shotwell still does not recognise the correct date.

Did you know they already had HD in the 1940's? Shotwell places videos
exactly 66 years back in time. Videos taken in 2012 end up in 1946 and
the most recent ones from 2013 in 1947...

[Bug 998156] Re: GTK Print dialog sends broken custom page size attribute: "PageSize=Custom.Custom.x"

2012-06-15 Thread Jan Heitkötter
Till, I did the following experiment:
- Print a page from Firefox to my HP printer without changing any of the
printer defaults (job 445). This will stall with "rendering completed" after
starting the printer.
- Print a page from Firefox to CUPS-PDF without changing any of the printer
defaults (job 446). This works fine.
- Print the PDF output from Evince to HP printer (job 446). This also works
fine.

Please find the spool files and error logs in the enclosed tar archive.

So far I've been experiencing this bug with Firefox, Shotwell and
LibreOffice. It started after upgrading to 12.04. My dad's machine is a
fresh 12.04 install (moving from 32 to 64 bit). No problems with
Thunderbird so far.

Till, the second file I sent you is from a plain vanilla print job in
Firefox on system default paper size. On my dad's machine I could
"break" printing from LibreOffice without having to select any printing
options.

2012-06-13 Thread Jan Heitkötter
Error occurs only after re-enabling the printer queue, i.e. starting the
print job and getting the spool file is fine, but after re-enabling the
queue it switches to "rendering completed". I tried to print from
Shotwell, but in the past, printing also failed e.g. from Firefox.

error_log attached. (There are two "Photosmart" printer queues in there,
the one in question is the one starting with "HP".)

Till, is there any possibility to send you the spool file by mail? I'd
rather not post it here publicly (it's a photo of my wife and our baby).
I can provide you with an Ubuntu One link.

MusicBrainz lookup works fine in Rhythmbox 2.96 in 12.04 32 bit. I'll be

Dngrsone, did you verify this with several CDs? Some discs in
MusicBrainz' database lack CD TOCs and thus can't be looked up. Does CD
lookup work with Picard?

[Bug 999108] [NEW] Shotwell deletes tags at random

2012-05-14 Thread Jan Heitkötter
Public bug reported:

There's a bug in Shotwell (0.12.2, Ubuntu 12.04 LTS) which causes it to
remove certain tags from all images in the library. It usually happens
after emtpying trash. This does not only cause data loss (tag
information gone forever), but it also makes Shotwell re-write all
affected images which can take several hours to complete and, during
this time, renders the machine nearly useless.

This bug is already fixed in upstream Shotwell 0.12.3:
http://redmine.yorba.org/issues/5068

Please, have this bug fixed in an LTS version.

[Bug 622051] Re: Cannot change Artist Sort error, Rythmbox reports "Internal GStreamer error"

2012-02-26 Thread Jan Heitkötter
I can confirm this bug for Ubuntu 11.10 32 bit and Debian Wheezy 64 bit:
Rhythmbox writes crap (i.e. the same artist all the time) to the
ARTISTSORT tag in FLAC files on both systems. Any chance to get that
fixed?

jan@haktar:~$ gst-inspect flactag | grep Version
  Version: 0.10.30

[Bug 893385] Re: Doesn't update library when a file is missed

2012-02-25 Thread Jan Heitkötter
Even worse: tagging does not work properly. I tried to tag FLAC files
and ended up with a complete mess with ARIST and ARTISTSORT information
wirtten wildly across an tracks. Is this somehow related to this bug, or
might an new one be required?

[Bug 893385] Re: Doesn't update library when a file is missed

2012-02-24 Thread Jan Heitkötter
Workaround does not work any more: under 11.10, Rhythmbox no longer
offers track deletion. It still offers "move to trash" which does not
fix the issue.

[Bug 23810] Re: Evolution is unusable in 1024x768

Advising people to use --express is nonsense because this leaves you
with a mail client and without calendar.

I just switched to Thunderbird with Lightning. Bug fixed.

[Bug 23810] Re: Evolution is unusable in 1024x768

2011-05-24 Thread Jan Heitkötter
Could you please reconsider this bug's importance being only "medium"?
After all, it renders Ubuntu's flagship e-mail and calendar application
useless and forces people to stick to 10.04 LTS.

IMHO all applications MUST work with 1024x768. This is a common display
resolution on older laptops.

Cheers

Jan
