[Bug 1067876] Re: [quantal] Missing Safely Remove Drive and Eject options from context menu. Only have Unmount.

2012-11-23 Thread Jano
Why is it a Won't fix when there are workarounds avaible?
http://nikunjlahoti.com/2012/11/09/missing-safely-remove-in-ubuntu-12-10/
Couldn't it be fixed this way? I think this is a serious bug for a operating
system. It made me change back to 12.04 because i don't want to lose my data
when I disconnect my Harddrive while its still used and spinning!

[Bug 663630] Re: Keyboard layout indicator in Ubuntu 10.10 has no icons or labels

2010-11-09 Thread Jano
Requiring Indicator Applet to correctly show keyboard layout (or else
you get just a dumb icon) is a *bad decision* and yes it's very
annoying. Can't believe what the Gnome programmers are focused on these
days...

[Bug 566134] Re: brightness-applet behaviour is good

2010-10-22 Thread Jano
I tested the Maverick live CD and the problem is still there, at least
on my Toshiba Satellite A300. That's part of why I switched to
Kubuntu...

Same here, Toshiba Satellite A300, nothing else than scrolling works.
Clicking closes the slider.

[Bug 131530] Re: 'Browse device...' in the bluetooth applet is useless without gnome-vfs-obexftp

2007-10-22 Thread Guillermo Jano
@Steven,

A bluetooth keyboard device is not supposed to be browseable, i.e. you
don't have files on the keyboard. Pairing is a completely different
issue.

[Bug 145905] gnome-vfs-obexftp should be installed by default

2007-09-27 Thread Guillermo Jano
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-vfs-obexftp

I'm not sure if this is the right package to report this, but I think
that gnome-vfs-obexftp should be installed by default as in Gutsy Beta
there is a Bluetooth Manager icon in the tray with a popup menu option
Browse Device that, after selecting the desired device (a Nokia
handset in my case), fails to browse the device unless this package is
installed (it doesn't recognize the obex:// URI as expected). I think
this may be confusing for users, so gnome-vfs-obexftp should be
installed by default or that menu entry hidden unless it is.

** Affects: gnome-vfs-obexftp (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 33214] Re: gnome-screensaver restores default color-correction settings

2007-08-19 Thread Guillermo Jano
The fglrx/gamma issue can be solved temporarily by rebuilding the
package --without-xf86gamma-ext. If the problem persists with future
fglrx releases (as of 8.40.4 it's still there), maybe a gconf /apps
/gnome-screensaver/fade boolean key should be created so there is a
simpler way to disable fading for power users. By the way, I think this
particular (gamma) issue should be reported as a separate bug.
