[Bug 1852546] [NEW] Unencryption screen doesn't allow input after additional displays
Public bug reported: I'm not sure what package handles it as my researching skills are lacking. I have Ubuntu 19.10 installed with full drive encryption and when I boot up my laptop it asks for the unencryption key. If I power on my additional displays during that screen the keyboard doesn't input anything to the unencryption key field anymore. The keyboard works otherwise and I can ctrl+alt+del to reboot. Works normally if the displays are on from the start and not powered on during the unencryption screen. [Bug 163090] Re: Login screen runs with different screen resolution than desktop
I'm having the same trouble along with some others on the ubuntu forums. My desktops are running [EMAIL PROTECTED], but the login screen remains [EMAIL PROTECTED], which doesn't look very nice on my monitor(Eizo Flexscan T662-T). According to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage the problem seems to reside in package gdm. This phenomenom came to me along with some updates to GutsyBeta, I thought it was due to an update of xorg. Additionally, occasionally the user desktops also start with that ugly resolution. Seems to me that there's something wrong with the hardware recognition and the system configures the display system with default settings against settings given in xorg.conf. And remember, this thing worked fine with Feisty and in the early stages of Gutsy Beta. Yours Jari J. [Bug 158248] Re: Nautilus gives error "too many files open" when copying
I often get the same message when copying media-files. Most of the times nautilus restarts and is usable for a while before crashing again. After this happens I cannot get the right click menus working and I have to unmount and copy through the terminal. This morning I also seemed to get some kind of memory leak. I had no nautilus window opened but the computer was unresponsive so I after a while managed to run 'top' and noticed nautilus grabbing 1923m of virtual memory and 632m of real memory. I would love to investigate this further but would need some pointers. Running Gutsy and 'nautilus --version' gives me 2.20.0. -- Nautilus gives error "too many files open" when copying https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/158248 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for nautilus in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
