[Bug 500773] Re: Not all audio CD's contains songs, use track instead

2014-09-23 Thread Jeffrey Flaker
The attached file showcases the lines where the word songs is used.
Obviously, the actual code doesn't need to change, but there are many
places that face the user. I suggest that song/track can be
implemented instead. That way, the user doesn't get confused if they
are already accustomed to seeing songs, but new users will also
understand.

[Bug 1097867] [NEW] evolution freezing and greying out

2013-01-09 Thread Jeffrey Flaker
Public bug reported:

Evidently there were some patches today (1/9/13) which were applied.
After which, evolution has been freezing and exiting without warning. I
don't have much more info except that it was working fine prior to the
updates. It would be nice if the fixes were backed out until
confirmation can be made on what the problem is.

[Bug 1049028] Re: Unable to create gmail account

2012-10-13 Thread Jeffrey Flaker
Another note: I've noticed the use of googlemail.com as some of the
gmail domains. As far as I can remember, google is no longer using that
domain name. This may be the issue in the calendar too. On setting up
the calendar, Evolution will seemingly freeze with noticable network
blips on my router. It is as if trying to resolve a domain name or
contact a non-existent server.

I know the mail domain names are as follows with common ports for secure and
unsecure
imap.gmail.com for IMAP
smtp.gmail.com for SMTP
pop.gmail.com for POP3

I hope this helps. I love Evolution since it, like Outlook, is a
unified app for mail and calendar. PLease fix the ills.

[Bug 1049028] Re: Unable to create gmail account

2012-10-09 Thread Jeffrey Flaker
I had this working just recently, but wanted to check to see if the bug
was still bugging.

This was tried only after setting up an email account OTHER THAN GMAIL.

If I create the account with an email address of soemthing OTHER than
xx...@gmail.com, then configure the imap and smtp servers manually it
works...BUT only if I uncheck the create calendar and address books
at the end of the set up wizard/dialog.

If left checked, the wizard looks like it completes, but the email
account doesn't show up.

I was able to add the address book from google without trouble, but I
can't seem to get the calendar to work...which is why I removed the
account and retried. However, I needed to remove any remnants of
evolution being set up by deleting any evolution folders before re-
setting up my email accounts.

[Bug 868400] Re: Synaptics touchpad stops working - two syndaemon instances running

2012-01-26 Thread Jeffrey Flaker
okhad the same thing happen. I was playing with the function keys
(hot keys for networking, etc). On my Aspire One, the hot key for the
wireless FN-F7 actually turns off the touch pad.

Maybe others are hitting a key assuming it was going to do one thing,
but actually does something else

[Bug 15495] Re: Archive Manager doesn't mean anything if you don't know what an archive is

2009-06-28 Thread Jeffrey Flaker
Terminology encyclopedia?
I scanned this threaded discussion and I was thinkingwhy not have a
terminology encyclopedia?

I am not sure how it would be implemented, but possibly have a help
context from the menu? When right clicking on things, in such the case
of create archive have something right under that that says, help,
what's an archive or a bubble showing the selected language's
definition in the simplest terms possible.

just my $0.02.

Terminology is the novice killer and is why people think that Linux is a
CLI environment

[Bug 92725] Re: gpg passphrase cached by evolution

2009-06-02 Thread Jeffrey Flaker
Evolution is still caching gpg key.

I am using Evolution 2.26.1.

Shouldn't this be elevated to a security issue and get a higher
priority. If my mail is up and someone clicks on an encrypted message,
it can be read without further interaction if I have already typed my
passphrase.

Re: [Bug 301421] Re: dropdown email suggest not closing after address selected

2008-11-24 Thread Jeffrey Flaker
Video card is NVIDIA 7300

As for the new user:
I have a user ID that has not had email set up and has only been logged
in so that the home directories were created.
I set up the email and added an address to the addy book.
Started a New Mail, and started typing the first 3 letters of the email
or name and I am now presented with a suggestion.
If I click on the suggested email address, the dropdown disappears.
If I hit enter to use the first suggestion, the email address is placed
into the TO field and the dropdown momentarily disappears, the reappears
with nothing in the drop..

I can not screencap as the dropdown will close before the screen is
capped.

I hope this helps

Re: [Bug 184695] Re: Folders not updated proper content when empty

2008-01-21 Thread Jeffrey Flaker
I am talking about the junk mail folder
If I had 4 junk mails in this folder, then cleaned it outthe FOLDER
does not show a number, but the titlebar of evolution window still shows
that there are 4 itemsIt looks as if the title bar is not being updated
to show 0 items (or what ever the wording is).

I believe that the folder number on the title bar window is updated when
evolution starts up and if stuff is added to the folder. To my
recollection, I don't know if the number updates if the number of items
goes up or downI have noted the issue only when there was nothing in
the junk folder.

Let me know if this explains it betterI could include a screen capture
later tonight (If I get junk filtered)

 Hi Jeffrey
Could you please try to explain me the exact behavior you're
experiencing,
i couldn't really understand what you were trying to point out. Does
evolution shows 0 mails when the folders are empty?, does it shows the
amount of mails containing another folder or you don't want evolution to
show anything when there's no items in the folder.

 Thanks in advance
