[Bug 230388] [NEW] Dictionary Look up-field cannot be copied

2008-05-14 Thread Jeldert Pol
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-utils

Ubuntu 8.04
Dictionary 2.20.0.1-1ubuntu5

The content of the Look up-field cannot be copied by pressing Ctrl+C,
or selecting Copy from the Edit menu. The content can only be copied by
right-clicking the selected content, and pressing copy in the pop-up
menu.

I expect that the selected text is copied, when pressing Ctrl+C, or
selecting the Copy option from the Edit menu.

To reproduce: start Dictionary, put some text in the Look up-field.
Select it, and press Ctrl+C, or select Copy from the Edit menu. Try to
paste it somewhere. You will notice the content is not copied, and the
previous content of the clipboard is still present.

Note that the content of the definition field can be copied by Ctrl+C.

[Bug 226517] [NEW] cd/dvd label shown as cdrom0

2008-05-04 Thread Jeldert Pol
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

Ubuntu 8.04
Nautilus 2.22.2

The label of a cd or dvd is used in most places to refer to the disc.
However, the title of a Nautilus window showing the cd or dvd is called
cdrom0 - File Browser. cdrom0 - File Browser is also displayed in
the Window List panel. I would expect that the label of the cd or dvd
would be used.

Note that cdrom0 is shown, no matter if a cd or dvd is inserted.

[Bug 216306] [NEW] tab in name field of save dialog doesn't work

2008-04-12 Thread Jeldert Pol
Public bug reported:

Open gedit, click on save. The focus is in the name field. Pressing tab
doesn't move focus to the next field (folder). Instead, it puts the
cursor at the end of the predefined name.

Tab should move the focus to the next item. Shift tab does move the
focus, and tab now works as expected. Until it is in the name field
again.

This is not a gedit bug, since it also happens in the GIMP. (assigning
to gtk+2.0 for now).

[Bug 202527] [NEW] ghelp links don't work

2008-03-15 Thread Jeldert Pol
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: yelp

The following links don't work in Yelp:
ghelp:fdl
ghelp:gpl
ghelp:gnome-feedback

After clicking one of these links a popup says: Unable to load page
and The requested URI ghelp:gpl is invalid.

These links can be found in the About This Document, About [program name]
and Authors page of most gnome applications. I found them in:
gedit
gcalctool
Rhythmbox
iagno
AisleRiot
sudoku
Sound Juicer

I suspect most help files contain at least one of these links.

This bug is both in Ubuntu 8.04 alpha 6 (i386 live cd) and Ubuntu 7.10
(AMD64 install).

[Bug 149615] Re: screen starts flickering in EOG when fullscreen

2007-10-30 Thread Jeldert Pol
Just a note about the workaround: CompizConfig is not installed by
default, and in which package is it in? gnome-compiz-manager or
compizconfig-settings-manager? They are both not supported (eg, they
don't have the Ubuntu logo in Synaptic)

[Bug 156593] Re: toolbar still displayed in slideshow

2007-10-29 Thread Jeldert Pol
I think I found the cause of this problem, it's Compiz.

Steps to reproduce:
1. In menu System, select Preferences, Appearance. Select tab Visual Effects.
2. Select None. Now, open a graphics file in eog, and start a slideshow. The
toolbar is shown, but disappears after about 4 seconds.
3. Select Normal, or Extra. Now, open a graphics file in eog, and start a
slideshow. The toolbar is shown. After about 4 seconds, the screen flashes
(partially) to black, with the image and toolbar still partially visable. After
some time the flashing stops, but the toolbar is still visible. During the
flashes the slideshow continues to rotate pictures.

I'm using a ATI Radeon 9800 Pro, with ati driver.

I'm hoping someone can confirm this failure in eog.

Just as a note (from my duplicate bug report #156593): the toolbar
(buttonbar, topbar) doesn't disappear at all. After the flickering stops
the toolbar is still visible.

[Bug 156593] Re: toolbar still displayed in slideshow

2007-10-27 Thread Jeldert Pol
On one machine the toolbar is visible all the time (in slideshow). I've
checked on another machine and it does disappear there.

The weird thing is that on the first machine the screen flashes to black
a few times. Perhaps it has something to do with Compiz or another
program. I'll investigate a litte more.

[Bug 156593] toolbar still displayed in slideshow

2007-10-24 Thread Jeldert Pol
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: eog

When starting a slideshow with Eye of Gnome there is a toolbar visible.
In previous versions (before Gutsy) this was not the case. The toolbar
is also visible in full screen mode.

I suggest hidding the toolbar in a slideshow. It can still be displayed
in full screen. Even better, make it optional. Create an option in
Preferences, In the Slideshow tab.

[Bug 84317] Re: Ubuntulooks theme corruption in VirtualBox

2007-02-18 Thread Jeldert Pol
I saw the same thing on a Feisty install inside VirtualBox.

Another problem I have is that the mouse cursor should be white, with a
black border. When moving the mouse to the top of a frame, it changes
into a resize cursor, which is white with a purple / pink border. All
other resize cursors look fine.

Unfortunatly I can't take a screenshot, because there it looks fine.
