[Bug 514134] Re: awn disappeared after update to gconf 2.28.0-1ubuntu3

2010-01-29 Thread Jess Miller
Mark - the process you listed didn't work for me, unfortunately. Even
--purge didn't help.

I loaded things up in gconf-editor after the reinstall of AWN just to
look and see if there was something obviously off. There wasn't, but I
did notice that nearly everything was listed as no value. I'm
wondering if gconf... ate the defaults somehow? However, it could just
be a result of me using the gconftool-2 commands. I don't know. Could
someone who hasn't done this go look and see what state their AWN-
related gconf preferences are in?

[Bug 15495] Re: Archive Manager doesn't mean anything if you don't know what an archive is

2009-07-18 Thread Jess Miller
Package makes sense conceptually but we're already using that, and it
would only be more confusing to use that term for two completely
different things.

Envelope makes sense, but doesn't make a good verb. You could also say
you were creating a packet or maybe a collection.

The concept behind the archive is really something that needs to be
taught to be understood and there's no non-digital analogue that's a
really close fit, in my opinion. Perhaps a discoverable method of
explaining what things do would be better than changing the terminology
to something that would not necessarily improve understanding.

[Bug 400933] [NEW] gnomine giving negative scores

2009-07-17 Thread Jess Miller
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 400931 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/400931

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-games

Karmic just updated to gnome-games 1:2.27.4-0ubuntu1. (The problem could
also be in gnome-games-data, which updated at the same time.) Gnomine
now counts time backward. It sometimes counts forward a few seconds (no
more than twenty) before suddenly launching backward into the negatives.
My current high score is -141m -6s, where the game in question took
approximately 1 minute. Right-clicks move the timer backwards in huge
chunks, while otherwise it simply moves backwards by actual seconds
(just negative ones).

** Affects: gnome-games (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 352110] Re: nautilus crashed with SIGSEGV

2009-03-31 Thread Jess Miller
The video plays just fine with ffplay, although it gives an error
message ([aac @ 0x8526740]SBR not implemented. Update your FFmpeg
version to the newest one from SVN. If the problem still occurs, it
means that your file has a feature which has not been implemented.)
more times than will fit in my terminal.

[Bug 347478] [NEW] mines game crashes sometimes when pressing new game

2009-03-23 Thread Jess Miller
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-games

Ubuntu 8.10 - gnome-games 1:2.24.1.1-0ubuntu1

When playing Mines, when I clear all the mines on the first game after
launch and press New Game, the game crashes and exits instead of
starting a new game. This occurs regardless of the size of the board I
am playing on or whether I have reached a new high score. If I lose the
first game or start a new game by pressing the smiley-face button midway
through the first game, then this doesn't happen.
