How to reproduce: ji...@jimmy:~/tmp$ mkdir test ji...@jimmy:~/tmp$ mkdir test/root ji...@jimmy:~/tmp$ touch test/root/file ji...@jimmy:~/tmp$ sudo chown root:root test/root/ test/root/file Then delete ~/tmp/test in nautilus and empty the Trash.
