[Bug 447918] Re: Nautilus fails copying a folder with a '|' character

2009-10-13 Thread João Neves
I'm marking this as invalid. It's a filesystem limitation. I forgot I
originally saw the bug while copying to a FAT filesystem (in my case a
memup mp3 player).

Sorry for your time,
João Miguel Neves

** Changed in: nautilus (Ubuntu)
   Status: New = Invalid

[Bug 447918] [NEW] Nautilus fails copying a folder with a '|' character

2009-10-10 Thread João Neves
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

When copying a folder with the '|', nautilus fails to create a new
directory, preventing the copy operation. Renaming to a filename with
'|' will also fail complaining abou an invalid filename.

Found this out because I wanted to copy a podcast names 'Education
Podcast with John Merrow | PBS' in ~/Podcasts that was put there by
rhythmbox. Nautilus failed in doing the copy until I renamed the
directory.

ProblemType: Bug
Architecture: i386
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.04
ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/nautilus
Package: nautilus 1:2.26.2-0ubuntu2
ProcEnviron:

 SHELL=/bin/bash
SourcePackage: nautilus
Uname: Linux 2.6.28-6-386 i686
