[Bug 163878] Re: disk mounter applet disappears

2007-12-16 Thread Joe Public
Tried to get a backtrace, but no luck. The problem is that once you
attach gdb to the disk mounter process and then log out, the process is
killed as part of the logout and a new one started upon login. However,
gdb is not attached to the new one, which is the one we actually want to
backtrace.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

[Bug 163878] Re: disk mounter applet disappears

I'm running an ATI Radeon Mobility 9200, but with the default driver
(not the restricted driver). Never used the restricted driver. Will try
to get a backtrace.

[Bug 163878] disk mounter applet disappears

2007-11-19 Thread Joe Public
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-applets

In Feisty, with all updates applied.

Steps to reproduce:

- Right-click on top panel and select 'Add to Panel'
- Add the Disk Mounter applet
- Log out
- Log back in

The Disk Mounter applet is no longer visible on the panel.

Perhaps related:

- Right-click on top panel and select 'Add to Panel'
- Add the Disk Mounter applet

The Disk Mounter applet is not actually added to the panel.

** Affects: gnome-applets (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

Re: [Bug 52137] Re: Application Launcher with Generic Name and Comments erased displays build info

2006-09-27 Thread Joe Public
This was with the initial Dapper release (off the CD) and with English
(Canada) as the locale.

[Bug 52137] Application Launcher with Generic Name and Comments erased displays build info

2006-07-06 Thread Joe Public
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

What I did:

- Add a new Application Launcher to the panel.
- Right-click on the launcher and go to Properties.
- Remove the default text in the Generic Name and Comments field.
- Click on Close.
- Logout
- Login
- Hover the mouse over the launcher.

What happened:

- The build details of the application are displayed.

What I expected:

- Since the comments have been removed, only the name of the launcher
should be displayed when the mouse hovers over the launcher.

Additional Details:

- I've tried this with both the Terminal and Evolution.

[Bug 52131] Paste in dir where user does not have write permission

2006-07-06 Thread Joe Public
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

What I did:

- Nautilus is configured to show listview, and the directory-tree on the left.
- Go to /usr/share/pixmaps
- CTRL-C on a file to copy
- CTRL-V to paste the file

What happened:

- A little text box with the full path of the copied file appears in the lower
right-hand side of the nautilus window followed by some garbled text.
- The text box stays around for a few seconds and then disappears.
- The file is not copied anywhere.

What I expected:

- A message or some indication that Paste is not possible in the
directory since the user does not have the correct permissions (i.e.
/usr/share/pixmaps is only writable by root).

 Importance: Untriaged
 Status: Unconfirmed
