[Bug 363282] [NEW] Gstreamer reports internal data flow error for ogg vorbis stream

2009-04-18 Thread Johan Ehnberg
Public bug reported:

Here's a link that fails with "Internal data flow error" on all three of
the computers I could test this on using any program with the
gstreamer0.10 backend. Movie player (totem) seems to give a split second
of the stream, while rhythmbox fails with no sound at all.

Here's a link that works in Finland. Other stream can surely be found around
the net. There are similar bug reports for other media types, maybe related.
http://217.30.180.242:8000/gvfm.ogg.m3u

I'd be happy to provide more information.

Tested on updated Jaunty RC and intrepid, amd64.

[Bug 363282] Re: Gstreamer reports internal data flow error for ogg vorbis stream

2009-04-18 Thread Johan Ehnberg
Thank you for your response! The way I see it, media playback has been
very essential for a desktop distro since 10+ years ago.

If there are no gstreamer experts within Ubuntu, why not switch to xine
as it is clearly superior (8-xine vs 4-gstreamer, out of 10 of my
personal media playback needs are fulfilled) plus the fact that
supporting a certain infrastructure officially somehow prequisites
maintainers to at least upstream essential bugs...

Well, this is just my effort to make JJ better.

[Bug 53079] Re: AisleRiot Solitaire crashes when selecting a new game

2006-07-22 Thread Johan Ehnberg
I can second this bug. I'd like to add a pointer:

The game crashes only in some cases when changing games. For example,
using the default two default launchers (solitaire and freecell) and the
changing to my favorite Will O The Wisp, only crashes when sol was
started with Solitaire.

This applies for 6.06 with all updates available today. Easy to
reproduce, happens every time on all my three installations as well.

[Bug 458105] [NEW] file-roller fails to drag-and-drop extract an archive with 7zip error "cannot use absolute pathnames for this command"

2009-10-22 Thread Johan Ehnberg
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: file-roller

Running latest Karmic on x64. When trying to drag and drop files from a certain

[Bug 458105] Re: file-roller fails to drag-and-drop extract an archive with 7zip error "cannot use absolute pathnames for this command"

2009-10-30 Thread Johan Ehnberg
As long as Nautilus wants to open it with Archive Manager, yes, I do
expect it to work. Logically, it is a bug as long as it does not work
although it advertises it. (Besides, it seems to be only a very minor
command line invocation syntax problem in file-roller!)

Alternatively, it would be logical to no longer advertise Archive
Manager for this type of file, as you put it, if it really isn't
expected to handle exe files. Power users who feel lucky could still try
to open it using "Open with Other Application..."

Note: it is a cab archive wrapped in an exe, just like many other
archives like zips can be. It has been very valuable to me to be able to
extract exe-wrapped archives without using wine or windows! And the wide
support for formats has always been a forte of FOSS - why not go all the
way?
