[Bug 1173886] Re: Wrong background colour for nautilus icon in Unity launcher

2013-08-14 Thread Johannes Gowin
You can for example open the update-manager.desktop file located
either in /usr/share/applications/ or ~/.local/share/applications with
gedit and delete the line starting with X-Unity-IconBackgroundColor.
This gives you back the chameleonic colour for the specific launcher
icon.

[Bug 1124297] Re: Mouse and touch input devices can't be configured seperately

2013-02-14 Thread Johannes Gowin
As I wrote in Gnome Bugzilla it's pretty sad that this won't be fixed.

I thought maybe like for other additions in the gnome-control-center
this could be also done by Ubuntu. For example the cursor with my Magic
Trackpad is far to slow to be able to work fluently. Also there is a
discrepancy between my build in trackpad and the touchpad of my laptop.

[Bug 1124297] Re: Mouse and touch input devices can't be configured seperately

2013-02-14 Thread Johannes Gowin
Sure thing that you don't have the time to deal with every minor issue
instantly.

But isn't setting this bug to Won't fix telling other people that they
shouldn't have any hope that it ever will get fixed a little bit to
much? (I'm not too familiar with the guidelines how to bug statuses) It
sounds like bad/stupid/unworthy idea that never will be considered.
Wouldn't be Opinion more appropriate? Just my 2 cents worth.

So maybe we should stop that here as I know that this is some minor
thing (even if it is influencing the connection of the user and the
software).

[Bug 1124297] [NEW] Mouse and touch input devices can't be configured seperately

2013-02-13 Thread Johannes Gowin
Public bug reported:

1) Ubuntu 12.10

2) gnome-control-center 3.6.3-0ubuntu11~ubuntu12.10.1

3) I want all build in/connected cursor moving devices (touchpad, mouse,
external touchpads etc.) to be configured seperately like it's possible with
gpointing-device-settings. The before mentioned package does't work propperly
with Ubuntu anymore (changes aren't persistent #489830) and isn't updated
anymore so it would be nice to have these features directly in the control
center.
Please add an option to configure all input mouses/touchpads/etc. seperately.
I'm not sure about design guidelines but this could be sorted by tabs for every
device that's connected. Also settings for every device should be saved
somewhere so when you connect an external device the next time the settings
should be restored.

4) On my Lenovo laptop I have a Lenovo trackpad and a touchpad, and I
often use an external mouse or an Apple Magic Trackpad. At the moment in
Ubuntu it's not possible to configure them all seperately considering
the different natures of the mentioned input devices.

[Bug 682788] Re: Improve Unity menus

2012-05-09 Thread Johannes Gowin
As I have asked before: Isn't it possible to put the global menu into the
window decoration/caption bar for non-maximized windows?
So it would always be in the bar above the window. Nice, clean, logical and
consistent.

Otherwise I'm with the
[x] Global Menu only for maximized windows
solution.

[Bug 682788] Re: Global menu is not ergonomical on large screens

2012-03-14 Thread Johannes Gowin
Wouldn't it be possible to have the appmenu

1) in the panel for maximized windows
2) in the window title bar for non-maximized windows

So this would mean the menu would always be next to the close buttons
(consistence), monitor space usage is reduced (for smaller laptops) and
the menu stays with the associated window (consistence).

[Bug 762761] [NEW] Date in Unity panel has wrong format

2011-04-16 Thread Johannes Gowin
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

If I add the date or the weekday to the tine in the panel there's a ',' (comma)
where a '.' (dot) should be.
Looks like this:16. Apr,, 15:39 or Sa,, 15:39
Should look like: 16. Apr., 15:39 or Sa., 15:39
Maybe it would be nicer to remove the comma totally.
