[Bug 323496] Re: An unfriendly error message is shown when failing to open a DVD.
Sebastien, I cannot reproduce this anymore, so I'll mark it as fixed. This is with gvfs 1.2.1-0ubuntu1. One oddity is that the volume name of the DVD drive in nautilus gets set to the volume label of the first DVD I insert, and does not change when I eject the DVD or insert a different DVD, but that's another issue (not this bug). -- An unfriendly error message is shown when failing to open a DVD. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/323496 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 323496] Re: An unfriendly error message is shown when failing to open a DVD.
This is a clean install of Jaunty. Sorry about the versions, I got them from the wrong place. Looking at my Debian changelogs, the versions currently installed are: nautilus (1:2.25.4-0ubuntu1) jaunty gvfs (1.1.5-0ubuntu1) jaunty It happens every time on the two video DVDs I've tried. Both DVDs are playable with "mplayer dvd://0". Restarting does not make a difference. -- An unfriendly error message is shown when failing to open a DVD. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/323496 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 323496] [NEW] An unfriendly error message is shown when failing to open a DVD.
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gvfs Current jaunty: gvfs 1.0.2-0ubuntu1 nautilus 1:2.24.1-0ubuntu1 To reproduce: Insert a DVD into the DVD drive. >From the menu at the top of the desktop screen, select "Places->CD-RW/DVD±RW >Drive". The following error dialog is shown: Unable to scan CD-RW/DVD±RW Drive for media changes Cannot invoke CheckForMedia on HAL: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.AccessDenied: Rejected send message, 1 matched rules; type="method_call", sender=":1.24" (uid=1000 pid=4145 comm="/usr/lib/gvfs/gvfs-hal-volume-monitor ") interface="org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.Storage.Removable" member="CheckForMedia" error name="(unset)" requested_reply=0 destination="org.freedesktop.Hal" (uid=0 pid=3432 comm="/usr/sbin/hald ")) I tried a different disk, and it worked okay. So possibly the problem here is with the disk (maybe because it is a video DVD, not a data DVD). But the error message is not very friendly. ** Affects: gvfs (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- An unfriendly error message is shown when failing to open a DVD. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/323496 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gvfs in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 201786] Re: ssh Agent admitted failure to sign using the key
I'm also getting this on Fedora 9 PPC. I don't think seahorse is installed. Besides the SSH_AUTH_SOCK workaround, another workaround is to run "ssh-add" once after logging in. -- ssh Agent admitted failure to sign using the key https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/201786 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-keyring in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 51167] totem plugins do not advertise all mimetypes to firefox
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: totem I was trying to watch video from http://www.abc.net.au/vod in WMV format. However, I always get "Click here to download the appropriate plugin" message. Clicking through reveals that the plugin mimetype is "video/x-ms-asf". Looking at about:plugins shows that Totem Mozilla Plugin can handle "video/x-ms-asf-plugin", but not "video/x-ms-asf". Looking in the totem source at totem-mozilla-plugin.cpp:648 shows that the authors of totem have listed video/x-ms-asf as an alias for video/x -ms-asf-plugin. Unfortunately for some reason this is not getting through to firefox. ** Affects: totem (Ubuntu) Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- totem plugins do not advertise all mimetypes to firefox https://launchpad.net/bugs/51167 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 44629] memory leak in gnome-cd
Public bug reported: I was looking at a system today where the virtual memory usage of gnome- cd was over 700MB. It seems this program leaks over 100kB each minute. How I assessed this on my own machine: 1) With no cd in the computer, launch "gnome-cd". Just let it sit there. 2) In a terminal, run the following pipeline: while true; do time=$(date +%T) ; ps --no-headers --format "$time %z" $(pgrep gnome-cd); sleep 60; done This will print the virtual memory usage of gnome-cd each minute with a timestamp. You can exit this command with Ctrl-C. ** Affects: gnome-media (Ubuntu) Severity: Normal Priority: (none set) Status: Unconfirmed -- memory leak in gnome-cd https://launchpad.net/bugs/44629 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 43994] nautilus shows wrong icon for move to trash
Public bug reported: Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Severity: Normal Priority: (none set) Status: Unconfirmed Description: If I right click on a file in nautilus or on the desktop, the "move to trash" context menu option has an icon of a red circle with a slash in it, and the "delete" option has no icon at all.
