[Bug 376744] Re: split gnome-games debian pacakge to many packages

2009-05-15 Thread Jones D. Le
Yes, I would think it'd be time consuming to work on splitting. But I
think saving space is not the only reason, what do you say about games
in Windows, they are only few megabytes but they are separate from each
other.

[Bug 376744] [NEW] split gnome-games debian pacakge to many packages

2009-05-14 Thread Jones D. Le
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-games

Case Study:

User side:
==
Peter is a normal user who do not know technical side of Ubuntu (debian
packages, etc.). He use 'gnome-app-install' to do everything when it comes to
software add/remove. He hates Nibble game and want to remove it but it comes at
a price (all other games will be removed along as well). He asks for Ubuntu
developer if he could remove individual game w/o having to remove other game.

Developer side:
=
gnome-games is debianized-packaged a collection of all the games thus leaving
no option to remove individual game. Digging into the gnome-games vanilla
source code, the GNOME developers does provide configure flag to compile
individual game. By creating separate deb package for each game, developer can
make gnome-games a meta-package to install all games.

Pros: modular installation approach, give Peter what he wants and will
be very flexible if any games move over to new library such as gnometris
is now starting to use libclutter.

Cons: harder to maintain, more time and effort to push it back to debian
I guess

OS affected:

Ubuntu: pre to 9.04

** Affects: gnome-games (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 361425] [NEW] Ubuntu's gnome-sound-properties wrong size icon

2009-04-14 Thread Jones D. Le
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-media

The Ubuntu's owned version of gnome-sound-properties show blur app icon
when view under gnome-panel menu. I think the icon does not use the fdo
icon-naming way of specifying icon name. I edit the menu and find out
that SVG icon is used which could be the source of scaling down effect.
This is an easy and I hope it could be fixed asap for the 9.04 release.

[Bug 361425] Re: Ubuntu's gnome-sound-properties wrong size icon

2009-04-14 Thread Jones D. Le
Please check the attachment. You would see that 'gnome-volume-control-
settings' has correct (no blur) icon whilst the 'gnome-sound-properties'
is very blurry.

[Bug 76283] Re: duplicate entries for devices in nautilus desktop

2007-11-03 Thread Jones D. Le
I confirmed this bug on Gutsy release too. gnomevfs-ls shows no duplication in
device entries but not with Nautilus.
Upgraded from Feisty does not produce this bug. I encountered this bug only
with fresh install of Gutsy.
