Same for me, I steel need MUTTER_DEBUG_USE_KMS_MODIFIERS=0 to get GDM/Mutter
working properly.
I attach the result of journalctl -e (during failed session), in case it can be
useful ?

[Bug 1822059] [NEW] Wrong font in GIMP user interface

2019-03-28 Thread Joseph Maillardet
Public bug reported:

On an updated Ubuntu Disco, Gimp does not use the font configured in
Gnome-Tweaks.
I chose "Ubuntu Condensed Regular" font for the "Interface text".
Gimp displays a completely different font with serifs (See attached screenshot).
I also tested the "flathub" version of Gimp (flatpak install flathub
org.gimp.GIMP). It has the same problem.
Gtk2 support broken ?

[Bug 1768754] [NEW] Applications are muted (silent) but system sounds work

2018-05-03 Thread Joseph Maillardet
Public bug reported:

How to reproduce this bug:

* Connect a laptop to a dock, which is connected to a screen with an HDMI /
DisplayPort cable.
* Then configure the sound to exit through the cable connecting the screen.
* Turn off the computer
* Take it out of the dock
* Turn on the computer

Then, the sound automatically switches to the audio output of the
laptop. System sounds work well, such as the bell of output volume
slider or the test speaker buttons “front left” or “front right”.
Unfortunately, no more applications can produce a sound.

Graphically, applications react normally, we can see their connections
with pulse audio in the applications tab of the sound settings. But no
sound comes out of the speakers.

Workaround :
* Connect an alternative audio output, such as a Bluetooth headset
* Select it in the “Choose a device for sound output:” option
* Switch back to the internal audio speakers
* Et voilà !

If it help, my laptop is a “HP Zbook G2” sometime connected to a “HP
2012 230W Docking Station”

Thank you for your attention.

[Bug 1766137] Re: [regression] Password accepted but login fails (blank purple screen and mouse pointer only)

2018-04-29 Thread Joseph Maillardet
Same here with a 18.04 upgraded from 17.10

Workaround :
* Hitting Alt+F1 return to GDM who complain about a “login fail” and ask
another time my password.
* Another successful password attempt finally launch Gnome correctly.

Side effect :
* Hitting Alt+F3,4,5,... give me ugly graphic mashup.

Try :
* Uncommenting the line bellow in /etc/gdm3/custom.conf file to use Xorg by
default don't change anything :
#WaylandEnable=false

Note :
* The blanked screen is always GDM, I don't see the top menu-bar but clicking
the right place show the GDM style system menu with only few option like
shutdown button and no user sub-menu
* I not obtain blank purple screen but grey screen because I choose original
Gnome CSS alternative...
`sudo update-alternatives --set gdm3.css
/usr/share/gnome-shell/theme/gnome-shell.css`

[Bug 1698083] Re: Middle-click titlebar actions (like maximizing vertically) don't work in Wayland sessions

2018-04-25 Thread Joseph Maillardet
Observation on Ubuntu 18.04 :
- All work good on Xorg session
- Problem only affect Wayland session
- Classic windows with traditional decoration (chromium, pidgin, inkscape, ...)
accept middle-click action
- GTK3 apps with Headerbar decoration who use CSD (Client Side Decoration)
ignores middle-click
- Don't know why, but Evolution 3.28.1-2 ignores middle-click too (but have
traditional decoration !)

Freedesktop talk about that since December 2016 :

[Bug 1760501] [NEW] Photo display fail when scrolling large collection (blank screen) on 4k display

2018-04-01 Thread Joseph Maillardet
Public bug reported:

On my 3200x1800 monitor, when browsing my photo collection (Library >
Photo), after scrolling something like 20 to 30 screens, the thumbnail
window blank. After, I only see the grey colour of my gtk theme where is
normally show images thumbnails.

If I scroll back or change folder and back to Library>Photo, the problem
is not solved. But, if I scroll back sufficiently and change folder and
came back, thumbnail display is restored until I scroll down to the
limit again...

[Bug 1312188] [NEW] gnome-control-center > Details > Overview display 13.10 logo on 14.04 distro

2014-04-24 Thread Joseph Maillardet
Public bug reported:

On ubuntu-gnome 14.04 (updated from 13.10) when accessing :
gnome-control-center > Details > Overview

The ubuntu logo is labeled with "ubuntu 13.10" text.

When I access :
$ eog /usr/share/unity-control-center/ui/UbuntuLogo.png
I see the "ubuntu 14.04 LTS" text

When I access :
$ eog /usr/share/gnome-control-center/ui/UbuntuLogo.png
I see the "ubuntu 13.10" text

Does I've do something wrong or it's juste a miss from packager ?

The « importance : low » of this bug show us how ubuntu team don't
understand that MTP is going to be the main way to access android
devices.

I can't beleave that this problem is not to be solve in a week... I was
able to compil go-mtpfs (thanks Jan). But all my « normal » user can't
and won't do something like compiling ...

shame...

2012-06-27 Thread Joseph Maillardet
This bug doesn't affect Fedora or Debian Wheezy. It's definitly not a
Gnome bug. The problem came from Ubuntu horrible Gnome 3.2 / 3.4 mix. Do
not integrate full Gnome 3.4 (who's a complete and integrated desktop)
is juste unbeleavable :-/

Gnome 3 lovers is realy sade with Ubuntu.
