[Bug 306062] Re: Moving a window between xinerama screens using panel context-menu disable pointer

2008-12-11 Thread KRS
Ok, thank you.

In additon I also noticed this bug happens also when taking control of
the computer with VNC :

Ubuntu 8.10
Xinerama on 2 screens with a nvidia Geforce 6600 and proprietary driver v177 Or
v173

Step to reproduce:

- connect to the computer with VNC (personnaly I use thight VNC on my office
computer via a ssh tunnel)
- move a window trough vnc
- now if you try to use the mouse locally, you can only move the cursor, no
clik, no right-clic, only the keyboard is usable until you restart X.

[Bug 305839] Re: Watch Movies and music without hangs

2008-12-09 Thread KRS
> Is this reproducible?

Yes

> If so, what specific steps should we take to recreate this bug?

1 Get the Elephants Dream movie at http://orange.blender.org/download (take the
480p h264/aac audio to ensure it can be played on a 5 years old system)
2 If required, install the needed gstreamers plug in to play the movie
3 play the movie in Totem, place the windows in a corner of the screen (or on
your second screen if available)
4 open a nautilus window
5 you will notice frames drops in the movie during the opening of nautilus
6 if not, browse your hard disk, hit refresh button, your movie will stutters

To continue the experiment :

- renice the totem process to -10
- set ionice of totem to -c1
- go to step 4

You can replace Totem by Xine, Mplyer or VLC.
I will open a new bug report for Smplayer because this player is specially
affected.

[Bug 306062] [NEW] Moving a window between xinerama screens using panel context-menu disable pointer

2008-12-07 Thread KRS
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

Ubuntu 8.10
Xinerama on 2 screens with a nvidia Geforce 6600 and proprietary driver v177

Step to reproduce:

- Open a windows
- move it on the second screen
- using right-clic on the deskbar, choose "move" to move the window
- move it back to the first screen
- the windows doesn't appear on the first screen and now your pointer is
useless. You can move it but you can't click or move anything.

This bug appear to me after updating from 8.04 to 8.10.

What can I do to help more?

[Bug 305850] [NEW] option to force refresh of the thumbnails

2008-12-06 Thread KRS
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

I rip all my DVD's into MKV, so I have a huge movie collection in a
folder. (X264 vide with vorbis audi in MKV container)

Ubuntu by default is not able to build thumbnails for my videos ; I have
totem icon for each file.

I Install gstreamer plug-ins to handle x264, now nautilus is able to create my
thumbnails, but he don't.
I have to move or to renames my movie files to force nautilus to rebuild the
thumbnail.

It would be usefull to have en entry in the "display" menu called
"refresh thumbnails".

[Bug 288020] [NEW] Rhythmbox pause button fade duration isn't customizable

2008-10-23 Thread KRS
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

In Rhythmbox preferences, if we check "use crossfading backend" we can
choose a duration for crossfading (01-60s.). Another feature enabled by
this check box is the pause button fade effect. but the duration of this
fade is about 1s. and can't be changed in the user interface.

I think 1second fade is too long. Another slider in the preference could
be added under the title : Pause Fade in-out duration. with a rang of
50-2000 milli-seconds (or something like this)

[Bug 219746] Re: Totem can not play DVDs

2008-05-05 Thread KRS
I also cannot play DVD on 8.04

According to this page :
https://help.ubuntu.com/8.04/musicvideophotos/C/video.html#video-dvd
I installed libdvdread3 and Libdvdnav4. When I insert a DVD totem is launching
then the folowing error appear : "Impossible de lire à partir de la ressource."
("impossible to read the ressource")

If I try to read the DVD with Gxine , the video begin (intro video,
pirate warning, ads, ...), and in place to display the naigation menu,
the player stops with an error : "error reading nav packet"

[Bug 173747] seeking in totem is painful

2007-12-03 Thread KRS
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: totem

can be reproduced in totem xine.
Start dragging in a file, without releasing mouse button, move outside the
seeking bar.
Release, button, when moving the mouse, the film is always seeking. You have
over the seek button, clic then the movie can continue playing normally.

Another annoying thing in totem, is that you can't just clic in a random
place in the seek bar to jump at the desired time. Only dragging works.

[Bug 173349] if a pop up appear when resizing a window, the mouse is unusable

2007-12-01 Thread KRS
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome

If a pop up (or another app window) appear when you are dragging another window
border (like resizing window or resizing a column) the new window take the
focus but the cursor still keep the "double-arrow" mode. So you cant do
anything with the mouse.
The only way to recover is to close the new window with keyboard shortcut,
retrieve the origin window, finish dragging, then the cursor return to the
normal "arrow" state.

This happen with Feisty and Gutsy.
