In terminal it wasnt enabled but it was supported.
I enabled it in 12.04 ubuntu in terminal.
In 10.04 in terminal it shows its enabled but see screenshot in Disk utility it 
doesnt show SMART.
PS. I formated using Disk utility using : Dont partition and in fdisk -l it 
doesnt show any partitions. Thats then showing all correctly?

Heres pic how i formated: i choose Dont partition and then format partition and 
FAT (if choosing Dont partition its not create partition but format partition)

Dont partition makes not possible to open in Windows?

1TB external USB HDD. In DISK UTILITY Formated using: Dont partition and
& FORMAT VOLUME to FAT (not possible to NTFS)

In windows 7 i plugged it in and it doesnt show up. In windows 7 in control 
panel i open Administration- Computer Management
In there Disk management. I see there is my external USB HDD but it has option 
only to Format Volume. I do that using not format to NTFS but dont partition. 
In windows it doesnt work until i dont format it also so My Computer pops up 
asking to format. I dont wanted that.
So it created Volume and without partitioning. I put it now in Ubuntu and got 
this pop up- see screenshot.
