Public bug reported: In Debian Sarge (OpenOffice.org 1.1.x) when someone opened a .doc file from an email in Evolution it would open in OpenOffice Read/write, and changes could be made to the page layout (letter-> a4 etc) before printing. Its followed me through 2 installs on one machine. I dont have anything (like xgl/dual head) going on the computer i use for chat currently. I switched to clearlooks (plain switch, not log in/out), and it still happens. there was almost nothing visible cpu useage wise at 7 irc tabs, but at 9 it was quite clear. I'm connected to irc.gnome.org irc.oftc.net irc.freenode.net msn jabber (.org.au) jabber (.org) jabber (gmail.com - google talk) icq The ones with active tabs are freenode and gnome.org. disabling oftc didnt seem to make much difference. -- [gaim1.5 and 2beta]100% cpu useage when over a dozen tabs are open https://launchpad.net/bugs/45562 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 45562] [gaim1.5 and 2beta]100% cpu useage when over a dozen tabs are open
Public bug reported: Using gaim 1.5 and 2 beta, i have a problem where the more tabs are open the more cpu useage goes up. half a dozen tabs its negligable, but at 12-18 tabs resizing the chat window or simply talking results in 100% cpu usage. This happens on 2 boxes, and is repeatable but not a crash as such. I'm connected to ircx3, msn, icq, jabberx2,google talk. Whats even more annoying is that after the first line of text the cpu usage drops right off untill you send that message, and then its 100% (or lots) again. ** Affects: gaim (Ubuntu) Severity: Normal Priority: (none set) Status: Unconfirmed -- [gaim1.5 and 2beta]100% cpu useage when over a dozen tabs are open https://launchpad.net/bugs/45562 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

I can confirm this bug, but agree with Daniel that it can probably be closed - if a user wants to run with a hard drive 95%+ full its their call, and they cant say they havent been warned. ** Changed in: gnome-session (Ubuntu) Status: Unconfirmed => Confirmed -- Can't Login (launch gnome desktop) when the disk is full. https://launchpad.net/bugs/4791 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

I'd like to comment that the idea made here - https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6278#c4 was a good one. Flipping the flags isnt really enough... [Bug 40480] Flags on "Language Support" and "Find Local Support" should be removed
Public bug reported: Affects: ubuntu-artwork (Ubuntu) Severity: Normal Priority: (none set) Status: Unconfirmed Description: I dont feel that having flags on these menu items is apropriate. Many people will disagree with the choice of flags from a personalisation point of view ("why do only USA and Germany get flags there, why isnt it localised?"), and many from a political perspective. To many people the USA's and Germany's flags are things they would rather not see again. I'm asking that the flags be made some sort of colours only, without logos, or the graphic changed entirely. [Bug 38995] [gaim2b3] Unable to add a new IRC channel or autojoin
Public bug reported: Affects: gaim (Ubuntu) Severity: Normal Priority: (none set) Status: Unconfirmed Description: I'm unable to add irc channels to my buddy list - this action used to be easy to do, but now i cant see an option for it at all. I have the 'gaim-irchelper 0.12-5' installed on this box, and i still cant see anything. Because I cant add channels to my buddy list, i am unable to add them to autojoin (meaning gaim is essentialy useless for irc atm). [Bug 28429] Re: After hiding a directory and deleting it afterwards it stays in nautilus visible
I have reproduced this bug, and if you rename a directory "untitled folder" to ".test" it holds the old name. I did the test on my desktop, and a log out is required to refresh the 'directory'. if you double click "untitled folder" it opens with teh path Desktop/.test . press up (a level) and look - its hidden in nautilus but still visible on the desktop. i'm using gnome 2.14 on Dapper -- After hiding a directory and deleting it afterwards it stays in nautilus visible https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/28429 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
