The outer most button in any theme exhibits this behaviour with
maximised windows. I tested it by moving the buttons in 100px, result:
100px of click-able close button.

[Bug 387796] Re: Display application icons for Open With entries in the context-menu

2009-08-01 Thread Kenneth Wimer
Well, a fix was commited and then upstream changed the playing field and
the fix is purposely not needed. I would not say it is a won't fix as
it was already fixed in the context of the original bug. Sounds like the
issue someone would want to report as a bug was the design decision to
remove the icons, naturally that is a wishlist bug and probably won't be
changed, as it was a well-discussed issue but that is another matter.

2009-07-24 Thread Kenneth Wimer
@Daniel Fore: my comments are about Human only. Humanity already does a
nice job with these icons :)

My suggestion is to add overlay the existing emblems to all pixmap sizes
(partially because there are already folders with emblems on them, so
this follows the existing design). I have considered adding something
more complex to the scalable icons, much like humanity does.

[Bug 210474] Re: gnome-power-manager notification area icon should use the regular ubuntu icons for suspend and hibernate

2009-07-22 Thread Kenneth Wimer
The way to fix this is to a) define the icon name currently used in both

the same theme or whether the notification applet uses it's own icons.
Most likely, a link to the right names in the right place (the human
icon theme) will fix this.

2009-03-14 Thread Kenneth Wimer
My mandate for Jaunty was to add these three themes (as reflected in the

into adding it as a gtk theme (not a metatheme in the main theme
selection UI). I am not promising anything though :-)

[Bug 335888] [NEW] default set of installed themes needs to be changed

2009-02-28 Thread Kenneth Wimer
Public bug reported:

We will include the ubuntu-branded icons in the human theme and the non-

$DATADIR/icons/hicolor/scalable/status). Once gnome/kde icon sets
include icons with these newly created names we can consider removing

this seems like the only decent way to allow *any* desktop developer to

2009-02-23 Thread Kenneth Wimer
If you install the latest gdm theme (ubuntu-gdm-theme in bzr) you'll
notice that although there is a gtk-2.0 dir with a valid gtkrc it is not
respected correctly (the select session pop-up from the options menu
does not seem to respect any theme colors). A hint here, the new gtkrc
colors have a dark bg and white text.

If you select the same gtkrc from the GUI (described above) it all works
fine.

[Bug 331445] Re: gdm does not respect all the given color variables in a gtkrc which is included with the gdm theme

2009-02-23 Thread Kenneth Wimer
RIght, the current behaviour is that when there is a gtk-2.0 dir with a
valid gtkrc in the theme dir gdm will use that gtkrc BUT it apparently
does not respect everything as it should as there are problems (only
with radio box's it seems) and specifying a gtkrc from the login-window
GUI fixes the problems. We cannot simply ship with the gtkrc defined as
such as it would create problems with updates (I think, correct me if I
am wrong).

[Bug 332081] Re: Panel volume icon state changes to mute when volume reaches zero

2009-02-20 Thread Kenneth Wimer
The difference, as I see it, is that when you press mute at any given
volume level and then un-mute it, it should go back to the level it was
at when muting it originally. Currently mute=0 as far as I can tell.
This means that pressing mute means literally, go to 0%. It is a
fundamental difference and I think that looking at how music players,
telephones and other devices work there is good reason for mute not to
be 0% volume level.

[Bug 160311] Re: Window Resize Difficult (Window Border Thickness)

2008-10-30 Thread Kenneth Wimer
I am runnig at 1920x1200 with the normal murrine based human theme.. ake
a screenshot and look at it yourself, if that is not true, feel free to
ping me personally.

If you want larger borders you select another theme or find one which
suits your needs. Even 30 (and I really doubt that many are interested)
doesn't mean much against millions of users. I am not saying that this
my reason for refusal but it is certainly a reason.

put it in /usr/share/icons/hicolor/24x24/apps/gnome-nettool.png at the
right size. I will try to get this fixed (it is a bug in the gnome-
nettool package really)

[Bug 195929] Re: Cosmetic bug: rectangular white outline surrounding rounded buttons

2008-06-18 Thread Kenneth Wimer
Not sure how to get it tested properly...I have been running this for a
week or so and there is no noticeable difference (other than the
positive bug fix). In addition, nobody else in-on this bug has noticed
any negative effects (although I am not sure how many have tested it).

that this issue is not serious enough to warrant an SRU. Unless someone
says otherwise, of course ;-)

I have never heard of a micro-exception before (nor have I done an SRU
previously). I am a artist/designer who is learning to do packaging (and
due to my position in the company is now responsible for all this fun!).
I'll ask around and see what comes out of it.

[Bug 224527] Re: Inconsistent with new icon naming scheme

2008-05-04 Thread Kenneth Wimer
Nautilus changed the names of the icons it uses to match the fr.o spec.
As we do not ship any of the icon themes you mention I suggest reporting
this bug to the maintainer of the icon package itself as there is
nothing that we can do about this.

Good eye :-) Because we do not have all of the vector data I had to
