[Bug 403677] Re: gstreamer-properties reports incorrect resolution
Where in the world is Pedro Villavicencio? If the test I performed more than six weeks ago that is reported above leaves this problem still incomplete then what does it take to complete it? It seems that the solution may be known but has not been ported back to version 8.04. Is 8.04 really a long term support version and, if so, when will the support be forthcoming? -- gstreamer-properties reports incorrect resolution https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/403677 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gstreamer0.10 in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 403677] Re: gstreamer-properties reports incorrect resolution
Yes. Today I downloaded Ubuntu 9.04 and booted from a CD ROM. The CD-ROM contained gstreamer-properties so I was able to test directly for the problem reported above. I tested the video input and everything seemed to work fine. After the test I received at the terminal the following error message: "libv4l2: error converting / decoding frame data: v4l-convert: error parsing JPEG header: Not a JPG file ?". I am not sure that this means anything because the test did work. I saw my self in glorious colour while testing the video input. I conclude that the problem exists in 8.04 but not in the more recent version 9.04. But given that 8.04 is a long-term support version I hope that the fix can be brought back to the Hardy Heron. -- gstreamer-properties reports incorrect resolution https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/403677 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gstreamer0.10 in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 403677] [NEW] gstreamer-properties reports incorrect resolution
Public bug reported: Upon running "gstreamer-properties" and testing the video input, I get the error message "gstreamer-properties-Message: Error running pipeline 'Video for Linux 2 (v4l2)': Device '/dev/video0' cannot capture at 352x288 [v4l2src_calls.c(1194): gst_v4l2src_set_capture (): /pipeline1/v4l2src3:". This prevents the webcam from functioning in applications like Cheese, Ekiga, and Skype. I am running Ubuntu 8.04 on a Dell Dimension 8300 with a Lexma webcam. The operating system kernel is "2.6.24-23 generic". This bug appears similar to bug #317000 and possibly #370583 although those involved somewhat different software packages. ** Affects: gstreamer0.10 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- gstreamer-properties reports incorrect resolution https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/403677 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gstreamer0.10 in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
