[Bug 510059] Re: Gvfs keeps asking for password when trying to mount Samba share
I just installed the desktop version of Ubuntu 11.10 on my 2nd computer. Right after the install I tried to access the samba shares (my main purpouse for installing ubuntu). I have two computers who share and both of them was listed as computers in Nautilus. Nautilus did not however list my router with USB that also shares through samba. One of the machines runs Openelec (linux dist) and I could access that by doubleclicking it and I saw it's shared folders. I could also navigate into windows shares but I could not access my workgroup there. So I upgraded all of the packets after installation (245) and now after reboot it asks me for password every time I try to access the workgroup. It works fine if I actually write the path to the machine and the folder, no problems no password. But if I want to list it then I have the same problem as everyone else. Also now the only machine I could access the shares from asks for SSH-login instead in nautilus... As you can see from my smb.conf I have tried alot of the things in this thread and it won't work. mawox@woxnet-nas:/etc/samba$ testparm -s Load smb config files from /etc/samba/smb.conf rlimit_max: increasing rlimit_max (1024) to minimum Windows limit (16384) Processing section "[printers]" Processing section "[print$]" Loaded services file OK. [Bug 174192] Status line shows only space left
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus I apologize if the terminology is a bit incorrect, I'm using the sv_SE and not en_GB If I have the status bar (View/Statusbar) turned on I get information about the number of files in a specific folder and the total space available to me. 11 objects, free space: 264,2 MB If you select a number of objects (files and/or folders) you get: 2 folders selected (containing total of 65 objects), 2 other objects selected (761,6 kB) I don't like to do a CTRL-A to select everything just to get the total size of every file in the folder so I'd like to suggest a change to how the information is presented with no items selected: U objects (V folders, X objects using Y space), free space: Z where U is total number of objects V is number of folders local or mounted and X is the number of other files. Y is their total size Z is total space left on drive/partition Also This information is not available when using "list view" Well, it is, until you select a file or folder. Then it gets replaced with: "Filename.extension" selected (XXX MB) It's impossible to not have a file or folder selected in "list view" as it is in "icon view" Preferably the total size of the folder and or disk/partition could be aligned right in the status bar so it's always available in the lower right corner. [Bug 86473] Re: Properties button for alacarte
Since it looks like a menu still double-click feels like it would start the program. It's good to know there are several alternatives but a properties button is most preferable. -- Properties button for alacarte https://launchpad.net/bugs/86473 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 86473] Properties button for alacarte
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: alacarte When trying to edit the menus the only way I can change an item is to: 1. Select it 2. Right click 3. Select properties Or I can: 1. Select it 2. Press Enter/space (This way I only noticed since I did this bugreport) Instead I want a button below New separator that does the same thing. It would of course be grayed out when nothing is selected. Pressing Enter feels very strange since it looks to me like the Close button is the primary action for Enter. ** Affects: alacarte (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Properties button for alacarte https://launchpad.net/bugs/86473 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 83385] Rhythmbox centers Songtitle and Artists
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: rhythmbox The title of the song along with information about the artist and the album is centered. Thus when you change song the text "jumps around" and makes it hard for the eyes to know where to begin reading the next time. If it was left centered (or right for the appropriate locale) you'd always know to read from the far left (or right). /Mårten ProblemType: Bug Date: Mon Feb 5 09:43:24 2007 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 7.04 ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/rhythmbox Package: rhythmbox 0.9.7-2ubuntu1 ProcCmdline: rhythmbox ProcCwd: /home/max ProcEnviron: SHELL=/bin/bash PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/bin/X11:/usr/games LANG=sv_SE.UTF-8 LANGUAGE=sv_SE:sv:en_GB:en SourcePackage: rhythmbox Uname: Linux lillemor 2.6.20-6-generic #2 SMP Wed Jan 31 20:53:39 UTC 2007 i686 GNU/Linux ** Affects: rhythmbox (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Rhythmbox centers Songtitle and Artists https://launchpad.net/bugs/83385 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Why the reassign to Kubuntu? It doesn't do it in Gnome either (gnome-screensaver, xscreensaver)... It's gone so bad that I start a movie in VLC and pause it just to stop the screensaver and then continue to watch the original movie in totem. The code should be there from ages ago but what? [Bug 33002] Re: logout dialog UI objections
You are aware of the fact that the Cancel button in the current version changes size depending on what you mouseover? (this last checked in dapper from 2006-04-18) About the UI in general, I seldom logout or switch user on my machine since I'm a single user, I do reboot quite often since i dual-boot (No Oblivion in Dapper sadly), and I do use Shutdown. Now Hibernate and Sleep don't work at all on my AMD64 Machine so I don't realy understand why I have the option. So I only need three options, Logout, Reboot, Shutdown. And about the menu item name: Exit... well that works in English but AFAIK You don't exit programs you close or quit? It could become a translation issue... I'm not sure I can follow the thought of wanting to hibernate the computer and choosing Exit... either. -- logout dialog UI objections https://launchpad.net/bugs/33002 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
