[Bug 184711] Re: network-admin error: The interface does not exist

2009-07-14 Thread MaX
Hello SDC186,
I do not agree that the problem is "due to to the previleges". The problem is
that the error is misleading: if it read "you do not have privileges to access
interface" no one would complain! :)
"Interface does not exist" gives you a feeling of irreality :)

I like function Group by threads. Specially if you place sent mail to same
folder with received mails.

My suggestion to add in this group Forwarded mails. Now Forwarded mails
(Fwd:) placed in separated thread.

[Bug 329082] Re: Group by threads for Forwaded mails

2009-02-25 Thread max
Hi Sebastien,
Sorry for my previous post. I think this just wasn't implemented feature in
evolution. It is not critical but it will improve appearance of evolution.

How to reproduce it:
1. In Evolution menu View check box "Group by Threads"
2. Change folder for store sent messages. Go to menu Edit>Preferences>mail
Accounts. Choose here your mail account and press Edit. In Account Editor go to
tab "Defaults". Change "Sent messages folder" to folder which you use for
receiving messages from this account (I don't know which you use but usually it
is "Inbox").
3. Choose any recent message and Reply on this message.
4. Choose same message and Forward this message.

What will you have:
for reply message it will be group with original message correctly but
forwarded message will be in new thread.

Thank you for reply.

I will try to attach screenshot. But look like ubuntu jaunty have new
bug and screenshots doesn't work. After next update I hope it will be
fixed.

[Bug 178953] Re: compiz doesn't start if metacity compositor is enabled

2008-06-03 Thread max
Recently Compiz Fusion stopped working on my computer (Ubuntu 8.04
Hardy). Whenever I tried to re-enable it, a message appeared saying that
Visual Effects could not be enabled. I discovered the reason was
Metacity compositing had somehow been enabled. I definitely did not
enable Metacity compositing, therefore I'm wondering whether an update
somehow caused this? Should I file this as a separate bug? This should
not have happened.

[Bug 178953] Re: compiz doesn't start if metacity compositor is enabled

2008-06-03 Thread max
@qinjuehang: I'm afraid I don't understand. What would stay? And which
compositor? The fact of the matter is, Ubuntu is supposed to allow me to
enable Visual Effects through the Appearance config dialog, but it
wouldn't until I typed an arcane command in a terminal:

gconftool-2 --type bool --set /apps/metacity/general/compositing_manager
false

I shouldn't have to do this. Plus the fact that visual effects were
working fine before, and i definitely didn't enable Metacity's
compositing manager. So why did this happen? Is it a bug?

[Bug 178953] Re: compiz doesn't start if metacity compositor is enabled

2008-06-03 Thread max
Chris, thank you for your reply but I think that you misunderstand. I
did not ever activate metacity's abilities to work as a compositing
manager. It somehow got enabled on its own, possibly after an update
installed through the update manager. I therefore had to disable
metacity's compositing feature in order to get Compiz to start again.

The point I'm making is I did not ever enable metacity's compositing
feature. Therefore how did it suddenly become enabled?

[Bug 227515] [NEW] screensaver doesn't respond to input after being in another console.

2008-05-06 Thread Max
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-screensaver

If I go to another console from X (ctrl-alt-F2 for example) and work in
there for a while (long enough for the screensaver in the X session to
believe I am idle), the screensaver will hang when I switch back to X.
What happens is that when I return to the X session, the screensaver
starts immediately to fade to black regardless of when the screensaver
actually was triggered in X. After fading to black, the screensaver no
longer accepts input and must be killed along with the X session.

I am running Hardy Heron upgraded from Gutsy.

[Bug 37227] Re: unnamed imap folder

2008-05-15 Thread max
I can confirm that I am also having this problem on a new Hardy install
with imap.gmail.com . I am unable to delete the unnamed empty folder,
and I cannot unsubscribe from it.

Evolution support for IMAP servers certainly seems to have got worse
since Hardy. I didn't have this problem before, and am now having
various problems with IMAP including being unable to view certain IMAP
Folders (eg. 'All Mail' folder on imap.gmail.com - I get a 'Server
Unexpectedly disconnected' error message). Whether these issues are
related, I don't know.

[Bug 37227] Re: unnamed imap folder

2008-11-19 Thread max
I just tried the following:
- Deleting the empty unnamed folder (said it couldn't do it)
- Renaming the empty unnamed folder (again it wouldn't)

I then tried moving the unnamed folder from the IMAP server to my
computer. When I did this, Evolution deleted all the emails in my Inbox.
This is totally unacceptable. I realise that small bugs do occur in
software, but this is a serious bug which causes data loss and which
still hasn't been fixed, despite being reported over 2 years ago.
Furthermore, I am very annoyed that Evolution deleted all my e-mails. I
am therefore uninstalling Evolution and will not be reinstalling it
until this bug is fixed, because at the moment it is a liability. I
cannot use an e-mail client if it risks deleting all my e-mails.

The importance of this bug needs to be marked as MAJOR because it causes
data loss.

[Bug 304367] [NEW] Images in PDF do not print correctly using Evince

2008-12-02 Thread Max
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evince

The images in page 4 and 5 of
http://en.petzl.com/ProduitsServices/GRIGRI_D14601-I.pdf do not print
correctly - some parts of the images are omitted. When viewing figure
3d on screen in evince, the images include climbers and rope, with some
parts highlighted with orange marks. When printing, only the orange
marks appear. With figure 4, there should be a silhouette of two
climbers to the right of the line drawing of a large person. When
printing, the silhoutte part is omitted.

This PDF prints correctly from Foxit Reader on Windows.

I'm using Evince 2.24.1 on an up to date installation of Intrepid.

Page 6 of this document didn't previously print at all and was covered
separately in Bug #181030. This may be related.
