[Bug 400870] Re: unable to login to 9.10

2009-07-18 Thread Martin Gustafsson
I found a fix for this in an older bug-report #203755 and commented the
@include common-pamkeyring in /etc/pam.d/gdm.
Now it works for me too.

[Bug 400870] [NEW] unable to login to 9.10

2009-07-17 Thread Martin Gustafsson
Public bug reported:

After upgrade to 9.10 from 9.04 on my Acer Aspire One with netbook remix, I can
not log in the normal way.
At the gdm greeter menu, I get the following error message regardless which
user I try:
error initiating conversation with authentication system - general failure.

When running 9.04 the system was set-up to log in directly to the sytem
(without giving user-id or passwd), but I remember that I had to do some
tweak to be able to start the wireless network without giving the
password.

I don't know if it is relevant, but I attach some of the messages in the
/var/log/auth.log

[Bug 267828] Re: switch user does not work

2008-10-09 Thread Martin Gustafsson
It is reproducable everytime if I lock the screen and then try to switch
user from the gray panel of the screen saver. Switch user just does not
work. The screen blinks but I am sent back to the black screen with the
gray panel.

If I try to switch user from from my session using the user switcher up
in the right corner I normally get an error message the first time. The
second time I try the same it works. When I tested today it worked in
the first attempt, so I don't know if this has been fixed with the last
portion of updates.

[Bug 267828] [NEW] switch user does not work

2008-09-08 Thread Martin Gustafsson
Public bug reported:

Since upgraded to 8.10 the user switcher does not work properly anymore

Sometimes I receive error messages like this:
Graphical System Error
The graphical interface did not properly start, which is needed for
graphical logins. It is likely that the X Window System or GDM is not
properly configured.

The X server failed to finish starting.
3 X failed

Sometimes it works to switch user, but the newly opened session does not
have the usual theme, just an ugly standard gnome lay-out.

[Bug 52417] Re: Evolution does not remember passwords

2006-08-11 Thread Martin Gustafsson
It works in Gnome. Gnome-keyring starts when I check mail and handles the
passwords.
In XFCE I have to enter my POP-passwords constantly. To me it seems like
gnome-keyring does not work with XFCE.
