Well the progress bar does not show any progre, it just bounces left and right. Ultimately, the kernel should be changed so that when cp finishes, all data has been copied I think. Plus, when using the drive on different Ubuntu installations with different Ubuntu installations, the user only can clean his trash and not the one from the other user. I believe that the best and easiest solution would be to directly delete files on the usb storage device with the message that appears when deleting the .Trash-$USER folder on the drive. Windows-1256 are not included, this is right. For me, the mail attached only worked selecting Windows-1256 in Outlook. In Evolution, it is also being displayed correctly using Arabic ISO 8859-6. This also applies to other Arabic mails. Does this work for you? Hi! I was at Jonathan's house yesterday and we tried around a little bit. First, he upgraded to Feisty but that issue appeard. So, as /home was on a seperate hard disk, we wiped / and installed Feisty Herd 5. After doing upgrades, the problem reappeard, but I can't tell you if it happens with a fresh Herd 5. I think that we'll try to boot from that live cd again and retry. As I though it may be related to some configs in /home, I created a new user and logged in as it. But the problem still appeared there, also. Finally, we installed kdm and the issues disappeard.. I rejected the bug as I reported it and as I solved it deleting some configuration files, which I excepted not to be existent on normal installations ( I used some gtk1 configuration tools, among these a gtk1 font changing tool). Yeah, it uses CPU when starting. g-c-c does not appear immediatly, instead, it takes around 9 seconds to show up with a grey configuration list. After one more second the configuration items appear then. The desktop on which it appears is running Ubuntu 6.10. I can not tell you if it appears in other applications since it is only one contact who writes mails with that encoding (I think that it is the Hotmail Web Interface). All other Arabic mails and applications work fine. Matthew, although I didn't test it in detail, I do not except my packages to break Feisty upgrades.
