[Bug 951790] Re: Laptop does not suspend on lid close when external display is connected

2013-09-23 Thread Matthew Woerly
I know this is marked as invalid, I'd just like to say that there is a
"workaround" for this "bug" in Gnome shell. Gnome-tweak-tool has the
option for "Laptop lid, when closed, will suspend even if there is an
external monitor plugged in." Works great, no more messing with display
settings all the time.

I did a clean install and moved my config over, same thing happens.
Si Dedman, where could I find that version of RB?

I looked in my log and could not find anything like the error described.
I can look at a more recent log and check, but it doesn't look like the
same thing...

[Bug 900028] [NEW] Right click on tab bar always targets active tab

2011-12-04 Thread Matthew Woerly
Public bug reported:

Right click on the tab bar, on a tab other than the one that is open.
Expected: Menu will apply to whichever tab was clicked on. Firefox/Chrome and
other apps follow this behavior. Another option: the Gnome terminal and
Nautilus focus the tab that is clicked on so it is clear what the menu will
apply to.
Actual: Gedit will always use the menu for the active tab, even if it was not
the tab clicked on. This is not consistent with other apps, and it is not clear
that this will happen.
Personally, I prefer the Firefox/Chrome way, because if I'm right clicking I
don't want focus on that tab, I just want to quickly save/reload/etc.

Could you post a screenshot of this issue?
Also, you should try Ubuntu 11.10 and see if this issue is still there for you.

[Bug 868805] Re: gnome-control-center crashed with SIGSEGV in bluetooth_chooser_get_selected_device_data()

2012-03-27 Thread Matthew Woerly
Here my description for one of the duplicates:
I went to the Bluetooth settings and turned on the connection for some
headphones. The switch stayed on, but it didn't connect. If I went to the sound
settings, the headphones would not show up. Eventually, this crash would just
happen.
I tried this on both 64 and 32 bit, and both crashed.
Using the Ubuntu Bluetooth indicator finally worked.

[Bug 862813] Re: Power Managment settings are being ignored

2011-10-04 Thread Matthew Woerly
I can confirm that changing to a suspend and then back to "never" kept the
computer from suspending.
I can also confirm what Gremlyn1 said. Once screen is set to never turn off, it
immediately starts dimming...

2011-10-05 Thread Matthew Woerly
How about this for the power
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/864479
and this for the screen turning off immediately
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/863038

Just noticed these fixed in the latest update.

[Bug 863026] Re: Touchpad disabled after upgrading to 11.10, on Inspiron 1525

2011-10-11 Thread Matthew Woerly
I don't think I have a keybinding for it.
I ran that command and it returned "true", and I found that
gpointing-device-settings had no effect on that setting.
Possibly unrelated... my touchpad wasn't working lately, but disabling and then
re-enabling in gpointing-device-settings made it start working again.

third party plugins. I have tried putting them in many locations. Both of these
plugins are ignored. Remuco is even in the Ubuntu repos and does not work.

[Bug 878352] Re: 3rd Party Plugins Ignored

2011-10-19 Thread Matthew Woerly
Nothing on normal command line.
Here's output with the debug flag. It seems to search and find the regular
plugins fine, nothing about the 3rd party ones in there that I can find.
