[Bug 1726516] Re: no progress bar while copying files

2018-06-29 Thread Matti Viljanen
This still exists in 18.04.

The biggest issue is that currently there is no way to cancel a file
copy batch.

[Bug 247391] Re: Totem could hide the time bar when streaming internet radio

2010-07-18 Thread Matti Viljanen
I second. However, the UI changes, if we remove a whole element. I
suggest that the bar background was visible, but the handle was
removed. This way the UI location wouldn't change, and the
unscrollability (is that a word?) would be at least a bit more obvious.

Year and a half and no news yet?

[Bug 432835] Re: [Karmic] Brightness Buttson OSD Test Acer Aspire 5810-4657

2009-10-10 Thread Matti Viljanen
There has been a driver update, -intel is now 2.9.0-based. Could you
update packages, and see if there's any difference? That update fixed
backlight controls for me - works OOTB as expected...

[Bug 372944] Re: Jaunty can't play dvd

2009-06-05 Thread Matti Viljanen
Configming. Steps to reproduce:
* Install from desktop live cd (32-bit in my case)
* Update packages
* Insert DVD
* Choose to open with Totem
* Totem tells that GStreamer is missing a plugin (I think, I'm currently at
Finnish desktop)

(If Totem first tries and installs some decoders is unknown to me, since
I had some codecs downloaded beforehand...)

This is truly annoying. Plus, Ogle isn't found anymore in default
repositories...

Uh-oh... I came across a forum post:

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=789156

This can be reproduced just by changing the theme in Appearance to New
Wave - F-Spot crashes as my previous two attachments show. Now, make it
work again by switching back to Human theme.

[Bug 331487] [NEW] [jaunty] Plugin configuration crashes Evolution

2009-02-19 Thread Matti Viljanen
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution-plugins

Configuring some plugins crashes Evolution.

How to reproduce:
1) Open Evolution
2a) Edit - Plugins - Attachment Reminder - Configure OR
2a) Edit - Plugins - Custom Header - Configure
3) Click add button
4) Type some text, do not press enter
5) Click add button again
6) Kaboom!

If enter key is pressed after step 4), the crash does not occur.
However, plugin Templates has similar but multi-fielded list, procuding
the same steps don't make Evolution crash.

Using Jaunty, Evolution 2.25.91. No debug messages are generated, just
memory overflow notice.

PS. This bug seems the kind of that could exist in many places... So far
I haven't been able to reproduce it in any other places.

[Bug 328444] Re: gnome-terminal shortcuts: Alt+Shift+1 shows as Alt+! etc.

2009-02-14 Thread Matti Viljanen
First, having Alt-!, Alt-@ and so on in tabs menu is wrong, and it
doesn't let the user follow the logic 1 for first tab, 2 for second
tab etc., instead it makes the user look for the non-numeric
characters, causing confusion among non-exprerienced users.

Second, have a look at eg. New Tab and Close Tab shortcut entries -
Ctrl-Shift-T and Ctrl-Shift-W are given.

My point is that if a shortcut requires pressing Ctrl, Shift and number
1 keys, they should be all displayed, instead of the character some
combination may give and not including one or more required keys!

Does this behaviour occur in any other Gnome programs? At least Gnome's
own shortcut manager application shows Alt-Shift-1 as Alt-Shift-! which
is not as bad but not right...

Oh, and the Alt-Shift-F vs. Alt-F matter... The letter is always
capitalised for making it more distinguishable.

[Bug 328444] [NEW] gnome-terminal shortcuts: Alt+Shift+1 shows as Alt+! etc.

2009-02-12 Thread Matti Viljanen
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-terminal

Using Jaunty alpha 4, updating packages daily.

I use irssi a lot, using gnome-terminal. By default irssi uses Alt+num
to change windows, gnome-terminal uses Alt+num to change tabs. When
multiple tabs are open, Alt+num keypress is catched by gnome-terminal,
so I decided to bind tab keys differently:

Alt-Shift-1 - Tab 1
Alt-Shift-2 - Tab 2
etc.

The keypresses function just fine, but they are displayed like this:

Alt-Shift-1 - Alt-!
Alt-Shift-2 - Alt-@
etc. (depends on keymap used)

This behavious is, in my opinion, wrong.

See screenshot (Finnish keymap used).
